Thomas Frank - Head Coach

Says all the right things, and he did say what I was hoping. He brings this "Scandinavian" approach about developing the individual players. Improve the players, and the team will automatically get better. It's about doing stuff better and better, and the results will come. It's focus on the development, not the result. The result will come by itself if you do things properly and train and improve. This philosophy is very similar to Kjetil Knudtsen at Bodø Glimt. They never talk about winning. Never! It's only about performance. I like that!

Thought he spoke very well at his unveiling (one for football cliches fans)

Not going to read into the significance of what players he did and didn’t mention. Whoever is at the club come the opening fixture I have faith he will make it work. Seems to me he very much adapts to get the best out of who he has at his disposal
Broadly agree, but the specific comment about Solanke should be highly reassuring for both him and us.

Isn't that pretty normal? Seems like if you're left footed default position is right these days.....thats why I loved us so much under Redknapp - Bale and Lennon destroying their full backs on the OUTSIDE at full pelt rather than wading into central traffic......call me old school but it was glorious

How many times have you seen Kulu roast his man on the right with pace and then ping in a first time cross?

That was good. I like that he gave a little kudos to Ange too. Classy IMHO.
Very classy.

Also the early emphasis on bravery and risk may reassure/pleasantly surprise a lot of those who were really on Ange's side. It resonates and provides more of a through connection rather than feeling like we've executed a 180

I think when you track Brentfords goals for and against with the squads he's had, that part make a lot of sense. What you won't see is a mean defence at the expense of low goals scored based on recent history. Frank has almost become famous for his forward lines starting with the BMW and ending up with Wissa/Mbuemo. Apart from David Raya and Rico Henry, I'm not sure I can really talk about his defences and midfields. He definitely did a great job of taking Reggie in the 23/24 season and seamlessly covering the Rico Henry injury.

Good interview ...TF comes across as a very decent and sincere person. Words straight from his heart, no cliches no proverbs no stories.

He also talked about taking risks and playing football on the front foot. None of that pragmatism nonsense that we wanted him for 😂

The piece that got me, is just before that, where he says "I'm think about squad, and where/how would I play them" and you could see there was a moment where he's obviously excited about the squad, thinking through tactics/usage.

Exactly as I expected; Thomas Frank comes across really well, is intelligent, measured, sensible, capable.
It might work really well or it might not, but for me he is the right appointment right now, well done Levy/Vinai/Lange.

I've watched a load of Thomas Frank videos, and he always mentions "going man-man".
Sometimes we will be in a deeper formation, but often we will "go man-man" to press teams.

I will say Collins is a fine CB. I expect us to go in for him if Cristian ends up leaving at some point. I also think there will be a strict limit as to how much Brentford will let us buy this summer (obviously not exactly Nostradamus that one!)...

And I don't think this can be emphasized enough! I am in total agreement.
