Thomas Frank - Head Coach

Says all the right things, and he did say what I was hoping. He brings this "Scandinavian" approach about developing the individual players. Improve the players, and the team will automatically get better. It's about doing stuff better and better, and the results will come. It's focus on the development, not the result. The result will come by itself if you do things properly and train and improve. This philosophy is very similar to Kjetil Knudtsen at Bodø Glimt. They never talk about winning. Never! It's only about performance. I like that!

Not going to read into the significance of what players he did and didn’t mention. Whoever is at the club come the opening fixture I have faith he will make it work. Seems to me he very much adapts to get the best out of who he has at his disposal

Broadly agree, but the specific comment about Solanke should be highly reassuring for both him and us.

Also the early emphasis on bravery and risk may reassure/pleasantly surprise a lot of those who were really on Ange's side. It resonates and provides more of a through connection rather than feeling like we've executed a 180

I think when you track Brentfords goals for and against with the squads he's had, that part make a lot of sense. What you won't see is a mean defence at the expense of low goals scored based on recent history. Frank has almost become famous for his forward lines starting with the BMW and ending up with Wissa/Mbuemo. Apart from David Raya and Rico Henry, I'm not sure I can really talk about his defences and midfields. He definitely did a great job of taking Reggie in the 23/24 season and seamlessly covering the Rico Henry injury.
 
Good interview ...TF comes across as a very decent and sincere person. Words straight from his heart, no cliches no proverbs no stories.

He also talked about taking risks and playing football on the front foot. None of that pragmatism nonsense that we wanted him for 😂

The piece that got me, is just before that, where he says "I'm think about squad, and where/how would I play them" and you could see there was a moment where he's obviously excited about the squad, thinking through tactics/usage.
 
The difference between TF and AP is when the team are going through a poor patch, TF will mix things up tactically and try to fix it, AP just stood with his hands in his pocket hoping it sorts itself out.
