Yeah I’ve done some of the construction side in that before
It’s the standard way now

I did a marketing bit for two hotels in London owned by Middle Eastern that's run out of money (they have loads of personal money) which tells all you need to know about the funding model hahah

Anyway will let the subject get back on track, look forward to reading how Levy sacked Jose before a cup final for the 1001 time ;)

It’s the eternal question; right up there with how does Bradley Walsh have a successful TV career?
More blatant anti-Brentford FC rhetoric.

Not that anyone cares what I think, but I like him. I was pleasantly surprised by his acting in his Dr Who stint and he's not a public school-educated nepo baby.

In this video there is a screenshot of wages per week. It says that MNC MNU CHE ARS pay loooooads and then
LIV £2.5m
AST £2m
TOT £2m
Now assuming LIV figures include bonuses for winning loads of stuff and finishing high
And assuming AST is completely unsustainable as we know they are almost at 100% of turnover
Our figure of £2m looks fine, in fact it looks too high considering LIV have Salah and other stars??
So our wage BILL looks fine to me?

I googled it and got this

"Tottenham Hotspur's plans for a hotel near their stadium have been approved and are now slated to be completed in time for UEFA Euro 2028. The hotel will be a 30-storey building, originally planned as 22-storeys but increased in height after gaining approvals. The 180-room hotel will be the third-largest conference venue in London."

I'm guessing it is the last bit that is the real financial attraction. "3rd largest conference venue in London." I've done conferences in places like MGM Grande, Vegas with 20k employees. It won't be anywhere near that, but pitched at the right level of business would be a real money spinner. Be interesting to see what revenue line generates and how big it is. I believe we already do some smaller conferences in the East stand of the stadium.

It all adds up.

Its what I do now and the money is huge in it.

Depending what they mean by third largest venue, like Excel or if they mean Hotel, but say they mean hotel, Park Plaza Westminster holds 1400 people, say a day delegate rate of £100-£110 depending on the event, thats about £150,000 before other costings. Its lucrative.

I work on a basis where if I get one of those events for one of my 13 clients I get 10% of the profit and it keeps me in Aromatic Duck from the Chinese

I am avoiding certain subjects where the conversations are repetitive or provocative TBH and enjoying the summer, trying to build up my body for treatments to come, but I will be floating about.

It appears that outside of VVD & Salah Liverpools earners aren't that high

The 'issue' is ours tapers off beyond the 3 highest - so for me the issue isn't so much the top tier wages but more that we don't have enough players at the level of our highest earners - this could be explained away by focusing on youth as we rebuilt, naturally younger players will command less wages and theirs will rise anyway as they develop to reflect their level.

Edit : to add i want to see us add to that list of 3 this summer - i feel we've turned the squad around considerably in the last few years and we need less wholesale changes, we've got good options across the squad so should be able to buy more established players where needed

Looks like 3 of the things Lee McQueen said on LWOS last week that he had been told were going to happen have now occurred, or look like they will (Cullen and Munn going, Frank coming in).

Will be interesting to see if the information on the scrapping of the hotel projects and Levy going before the new season starts are right too - and Charrington then coming in as interim Chair.

1 of which was already done (Cullen), another 99% done (Frank), the only ? at that time would have been on Munn, but with all the rumors re Paratici coming back and the with new CEO starting it’s very much an obvious call.

Edit: I’ll predict Utd sign Cunha if we’re giving kudos for predicting things that have already happened. ;)

Yep, clickbait works when you have some grain of truth/already known.

You have to take all these wage bill sites with a barrowload of salt, the video uses FB Ref, which has Bentancur , Vicario and Gray all on £75,000 a week , Gray must have a brilliant agent to get £75,000 , poor old VDV is only on £50,000 per week . Other sites are not much better, according to Capology Dier was earning more at Spurs than he did at Bayern , Capology also has Richarlison on no increase in basic wage since 2019, like I said plenty of salt..

Not sure it was in the public realm when he said it that Frank was 99% done. McQueen also said the decision had been made on Frank weeks before, which a few stories seem to now be backing up.

I had seen discussions on whether Munn might go or not, but hadn’t seen it being said as anything certain.

On Cullen, maybe she had already gone (I honestly can’t remember - too much happening too quickly!) but he claims she was stepped down, rather than she stepped down, so will be interesting to see if that’s what eventually emerges.

There have been quite a few noises in the last couple of days about more significant changes occurring soon at boardroom level, so we shall see.

Tbf to him, he was clear that he wasn’t trying to claim to be an ITK when he said it, and I don’t remember him ever making any kind of predictions like these before on LWOS. He said he was simply reporting what he had heard from an excellent source.

Anyhow, who knows? I’m most interested to see if there is a clear refocusing on the on the pitch priorities in the coming months.

Thanks; so Son/Madders/Romero earn more than everyone at LIV apart from the 2 megastars who had a choice of "leave on a free or inflate your wages nicely".

Sounds like we pay a reasonable amount, nothing to see here. If we get good players, we pay them fair money.

MEANWHILE I saw an article showing how strong our turnover is, I don't have that particular article but this was the 'Deloitte Money League 2025'

Rounded to the nearest EUR10m:
MNC 840m
MNU 770m
ARS 720m
LIV 710m
TOT 620m
CHE 550m
NEW 370m
WHU 320m
AST 310m
BRI 260m

You can see how strong that is (especially if I round it further and put it into a Cann chart below) the top 6 are miles ahead of everyone else.
We know MNC and CHE are just cheating to stay up there, so they don't count in terms of a comparison. And we know MNU have big issues.
NEW/AST are unsustainable.
We turnover twice as much as AST. Literally twice as much. And we made it into the CL this year when they didn't.
The future is really bright, if we stay this path and make the right purchases for a couple of years, we'll be great again.

Well done, you have researched more than every media outlet and pundit who don't understand fudge all. When you realize every team in the league earns a minimum of 200M/yr less than anyone in top 6, now do the numbers over 5 years.

So, any top 6 club will have >1B very five years over the bottom 14 clubs, this is why Leicester couldn't sustain the success, this is why Forest, Villa, Brighton, Bournemouth, Fulham, West Ham will all fail in the mid to long term to break the cycle.

This is what Levy understood 20 years ago, the stadium, the non sporting revenue, the commercials had to be changed, because no amount of "smart running of the club" was going to make up a 1B gap every 3-5 years on teams that are already ahead of you. And we had the additional advantage of being a London club with a history.

The game is rigged, but everyone pretends otherwise.
