Don't forget Son played injured* for a lot of the campaign.
We didn't have much depth and he kept putting himself out there, getting flogged.

Maybe he can be a 'game finisher' to come on at 60 to face tired legs as the game opens up, so he has room to do this thang. But he must get fit first.



*Lots of our players who put their bodies on the line last year, were playing injured, and then got pelters for not playing to their maximum. It is far better to rest a player and get them 'close to full fitness' than to drag them through the mud.

The finisher thing Was something that’s been debated for
The idea sounds great but I’m not convinced because the traits have been there for more than a year

You might be right.

Personally would leave the decision to go now or see out his contract down to Sonny himself, think he has earnt that loyalty from the fans for his years of service. Whether that be integral or a bit part player depends on the new manager, but I would be happy to keep him around either way

I love Son and he deserves to go down as Mr Tottenham moreso than ANY of our recent players. Dont @ me.

His best parting gift would be now to move on and get us a good £20M in cash to help build us on from next season. Obvs if he stays then fine and nothing changes, but we cant seriously rely on a 33 year old winger in the PL these days and his best days are behind him.

Farewell Son, you are one our all time legends and got to lift the trophy you so richly deserved. but it is time.

I do think he may end up leaving (😔) but if he does stay, Frank definitely won’t use him like Ange tried to imo.

As a second striker option more centrally he gets to work behind Solanke (so not as relied upon as a lone striker) and basically work his magic in the areas where age doesn’t matter as much. I would predict we would see a definite uplift in the “Sonny-Super-Curler” goal tally next season if he stays.

15 goals, 11 assists. Apparently joining Barca now. Damn what a player he is. So frustrating that he got that injury here. Never thought he'd come back and be this good. Seems Spurs thought the same.
