Were we a laughing stock when we sacked Juande Ramos?
2 points from 8 games. In relegation. Yes.
Redknapp turned it around completely.

Winning the Europa League trophy is not just 90 to 120 minutes of football. You first have to get into the competition and you then have to get through to the final and then you have to do the last part and win it.... No other manager in ENICs tenure have managed to do that.So you'll decide a managers future on 90/120 mins of football? Rightio.
It would be a good start. Previously the head honcho has always seemed to prioritise revenue over glory.Brilliant to win a trophy. But if we do it doesn't mean we shouldn't want to improve. Whether that is upgrading playing staff or coaching staff.
Yes i'd like an upgrade on ownership aswell.
For you would winning a trophy make you want enic to be our owners still?
Were we a laughing stock when we sacked Juande Ramos?
We would've been if we'd sacked him immediately after he landed the first trophy of ENIC's reign at the club.
We didn't do thatthough. We instead sold the team's two best players who contributed 70% of our goals and then sacked him 8 games into the following season after dealing him a terrible hand.

If we fail to win on Wednesday night then no he can't. If he wins on Wednesday night then where we finished mid-table or 17th doesn't matter a jot. The worst league campaign for 50 years would be made up for by the fact that we'd won our first European trophy for 41 years!I agree that Ramos had a bad hand. His two points from 8 games is maybe a direct result of that poor transfer window striker wise...but can Ange really have such an excuse for our poor form that stretches back well over a year now?
It's one thing being mid-table, it's a totally different thing having the worst league campaign in the last 50 years or so
No other has managed to win us a European trophy so it's swings and roudabouts. No other have managed to get us so low in the league table, no amount of poor transfer activity can justify that

I remember Man Utd prioritising the Europa League one year under MourinhoPrioritise cl and pl over anything else. Pretty much the same as most clubs in that position.
and Frazier Campbell (on loan with no option)We did bring in modric.

If Ange manages that he will go down in history... especially managing to do so under these owners!
They finished 6th, not 16th/17th...I remember Man Utd prioritising the Europa League one year under Mourinho

Yes I would, because he would've failed to get over the line despite prioritising that one thing. My mind already has been made up. I would keep him if he wins the competition because he would've done something that other managers under ENIC have not been able to do. Sack him if he doesn't win it because he wouldn't have done so.Yes, but you'd sack him if he failed in that last game?
Make your mind up.
