Trans stuff

A why if a gay men's team accepts you the competition accepts you the clubs your playing accepts you. Who are we to say sorry you can't play. this isn't him playing for Australia or even 1st grade

B this isn't elite sport this is amatuer sport were you'd be lucky to find changing rooms. My daughter plays rugby league half the team are gay & they would except & welcome a trans player as the rules don't bar them from playing unless it's changed in recent times
As for safety I have watched them play none hold back people get injured & hurt all the time

who are we to tell people what they can or can't do when it's not affecting us
Over 18s males arent allowed to play contact sport with u16 males on safety grounds. You can do serious harm to people when strength and power are mismatched in sport

i am confused maybe it's my age men vs men
do trans players play under 16 or under 18s in the uk

I just meant men are forbidden from playing against boys on safety grounds. And its the same issue with trans women against biological women. You just too easily hurt people that are physically matched against.

Agreed but if women are happy to play with or against trans players especially amatuer teams we should step aside & let them play.
Its the safety, not the competitiveness. For contact sports anyway

Although even on competitiveness, park run get a lot of hassle about the high proportion of women's race won by trans women

So do you believe women who have transitioned like the story above shouldn't be allowed to play mens sport.

What if the women are happy for the men who have transitioned to play do we override them & say no.

The problem is the women that do have an issue with it are shouted down and called transphobic like Sharron Davies, Martina Navratilova, Sally Gunnell and Riley Gaines. I’d imagine there are lots more that just don’t want the hassle so they keep quiet even though it’s their livelihood at stake, that isn’t right. Even Laura Woods got targeted on Twitter just for commenting “great article” on the subject during the 2024 olympics.

For me the bigger issue is inclusion, make it work, you can’t do what the FA have just done and tell a group of women they are no longer welcome to play the sport and have to go and do something else.

Segregation of sport, distilled down to only two genders, is downright insulting to anybody not cis.

Well there's already Queens of the South. Someone set up Queens of the North and we've got a competition going

Absolutely, and likewise if not then dialogue should be opened up which is seemingly what's happening more.

Likewise more needs to be done so that women feel comfortable in speaking out if they are against trans women participating in women’s sports and that they don’t feel like they can’t have an opinion. Nothing against trans women or trans people full stop participating in sport, they just need their own category.

Problem is they are quite rare. Less than 1/1000 people. So you probably dont have enough 18-35 age range in a town to make a football team, even if everyone wanted to play

Look at the people that have stood up and said something though. Jk rowling got slaughtered. Sharon davies also.
That's the second time I have heard that argument. I don't think anyone should be slaughtered or shouted down all points of view should be listened to. I certainly haven't shouted anyone down.

I don't imagine many famous or not so famous people with a platform & can pretty much say whatever they want have to worry about being who they are on a daily basis. Just imagine someone shouting abuse at you because you are walking down the street just being you

I come at this from a certain point of view knowing 2 trans women neither are on social media neither would shout anyone down but they both get abuse just walking down the street. Neither can play the sport they love cricket/ tennis but they have accepted they won't be able to play there sport. They both hope it changes one day but it is what it is there words not mine. They aren't going to protest because the both understand a woman's point of view they just wish people would listen to there point of view now & again

I have known one of them for 15 years nicest woman you'll ever meet but she has to pretend she is a guy everyday because she knows she would be sacked because her bosses ain't afraid to say what they think about gays imagine a trans person. I have told her to leave but she says I love my job & besides the next job will be the same. How sad that she's probably right

So you would be happy for someone who has transitioned or who identifies as a woman to enter mens changing rooms. Or should they have separate changing rooms & make them feel even more isolated

Have you given any thought to how the men in the changing room might feel - or is that irrelevant? What about men who identify as women using women’s facilities - should we just worry about how they feel?
