I think my big mistake here was not differentiating between 'forums' and 'social media' generally, albeit forums are a part of social media. I answered above on that, so won't repeat here.

With regards to narcissists and empaths, it is a long discussion. Maybe one day we'll get the chance to have it in person. If you're so inclined, I'd be up for discussing it in PM. Unfortunately, in the modern world, developed narcissistic traits get the biggest tangible rewards (your point about senior roles being full of them can be bumped up across world leaders, 'successful' businessman and powerbrokers. It depends on what you value; is it power? Is it money? Is it 'winning arguments'? Or is it living life, letting others live theirs, enjoying discussions where you can learn something sometimes? Anyway, one for a PM or a pub...

What I will add is that I don't judge negativity in isolation, but the repeated need to cycle negativity -especially when accompanied by incredulity that one doesn't agree/see their perspective- becomes an issue for me personally. And again, I have nothing wrong with perspectives, but there's ways to share them.

No big mistake in my mind. You said what came naturally to you in that moment in time. The consequence of the N word comment became a fantastic conversation, and showcased a really open culture on the GG forum.

The main reason I don't want him back for next season is largely that I just have no belief that he is either A. willing and able to adapt his system to the constraints and realities of the quality of player he has at Spurs and B. I do not believe we are again, capable or willing to purchase the calibre of player he needs. Right now the club can't employ and support an idealist, we need a realist. Someone who can make the best use of the players they have available to them in an offensive and defensive standpoint and thats where Ange has failed miserably and has shown no signs of being able to change. It just feels like if he were given the start of the next season we will just be relieving him of the job at some point in the short term next season anyway.

There is no level of player that could make this brick system work

- Maybe if we had Harry up front to take every crumb of a chance
- Maybe if you had Rodri in midfield
- Maybe prime King next to VDV
- And then maybe if they all stayed fit

The system does not make allowances for the flaws it itself creates, and therein lies the death sentance

The club must not be sentimental or emotional regardless of EL outcome, it's time to part ways.

Hansi Flick essentially plays the same way and it looks like Barca may well win the treble, unfortunately we aren't able to buy a Yamal/Pedri/Olmo/Cubasi/Kounde/De Jong or Raphina any time soon.

I googled some of this. Subtle differences would be the double pivot midfield creating a strong screen in front of the defence. The full-backs are up and down, but less inside than ours would be my guess. I saw the words "high line" when it came to the defence but I didn't see "offside". Our current undoing is the over reliance on offside in tight, deep positions. My guess is that Cubasi and Kounde wouldn't be just getting into a line. I'm guessing they would be using their smarts.

I reckon Ange could even keep his job if he made some sensible refinements in these areas. It's not all about having Barca level players in my opinion.

I've often said that if he gets sacked I'll have the least sympathy for him of all our managers because of this.

His system can be tweaked and he effective without sacrificing the philosophy but he refuses unless he has no choice.

Yeah, I'm with you.

Sympathy for the injury-hit periods but no sympathy for the tactical system failures. Problem with the offside is now that I've seen it, I can't unsee it. It's just not the right way to play in your own 18 yard box.
