OMT - The Sh1tmunchers Derby

What happens when a readily stoppable force meets a very moveable object 💩

  • The Hammers have dropped 12 points from winning positions since Potter's first league game in charge, with only Southampton faring worse. They have failed to win any of the last four matches when they've gone ahead.
  • The Irons have yet to come from behind to win a league fixture this campaign (D5, L16).
  • The Hammers are looking to avoid becoming only the fourth side in top-flight history to lose five home London derbies in a season, after Millwall in 1989-90, Wimbledon in 1997-98 and Fulham in 2018-19.
  • Ange Postecoglou's side have lost four top-flight away matches in a row.
  • They are looking to avoid conceding four or more goals in three consecutive away league games for the first time since October to November 1976.
  • They have lost six league games after scoring first this season, including in five of their past 10 top-flight matches. Only two sides have ever done so on seven occasions in one Premier League season: Southampton twice (1992-93 and 2024-25) and Blackburn Rovers (1992-93).

I bet we can "improve" all of those stats. Challenge accepted! And it doesn't matter one iota! It's all about Thursday.

The WORST away ground in the country is our destination against a team I personally despise who have supporters that are among the worst I have ever encountered. Vile, dirty tosskerz. Let's face it, even though we're spanning time 'til Thursday, even though this is a training exercise for us in terms of prep for Thursday, there should be no way we lose to them under any circumstances. I'm no nostrodamus, I can't tell you where their heads are out without wild assumptions, however I hope there's someone at the club who crashes the dressing room two hours before KO and reminds them what dirty horrible smelly bahstahds wet spam are, and that they need to be beaten for both their own good and ours. Again, the WORST away ground in the country, a place where atmosphere goes to die...
