You hope given the fact its the first forum for a good few years and he got a good reception that he might now realise, he says. He must realise with the whole fab thing, the likes of Udogie, Ange reception, Maddison coming in and hitting the ground, the Bissouma turnaround etc that he is onto a good thing

Only 6 games into the season. Out of one cup.

Everyone is happy now. But it could turn.

I understand what levy was trying to say. That he'd gone for trophy managers and it was a mistake and that we might have to wait a bit longer for ange. But he's the right fit.

Not sure how ange would have felt. Ofcourse he knows he hasn't got the reputation of conte or mourinho. But he has won a few trophies in his time. Probably with bigger odds against him.

Ange is clearly a pragmatic guy, he knows exactly what Levy was saying and doing.

While some of that is PR for the club, keeping the "connected" messaging while saying we may take some time to get there benefits Ange as well.

Levy actually seems to do well with direct managers, think Ange and him will be fine

swissramble did a nice chart for 21/22 on wages. didn't know that the correlation between wages and success was that tight!
based on this top 5 is OK and top 4 is overachieving.

Yea it’s pretty obvious and also a bit self fulfilling (win bonuses will be part of this, eg if you win you get more money).

the issue is identifying the good players. No point us doubling the likes of Davies wages 2 years ago and expecting us to win the league! The trick is scouting and signing Udogie and then paying him enough to keep him here (which we don’t have an issue with).

Exactly its a fine balance in that respect.

Yeah recruitment (and sales) is key.

You can see the a very clear difference abetween rhe levy/hitchen vs paratici/Gabbanini era.

And now Munn starts a third era.

Btw, sorry if it's already been covered, but what happened to part of the £150M cash injection that was given last year? I believe £100M was spent leaving £50M?

Munn's role is new isn't it. Some will go there and maybe also new initiatives around scouting and youth development.

Todd Kline has apparently handed in his resignation. Nature of those roles is high turnover. Done some good things for us, hopefully whoever comes in brings his own wealth of contacts.

Big target was Stadium naming rights - no joy.

Club statement says Garden (sic) leave.

Stadium naming rights has been accepted situation at the club though so would not have been an issue.

These jobs have high turnovers everywhere, you come in, use your contacts, put in place contracts and you move on. Once you have put in place long term agreements not much further to go TBH

Does the fact that he's on Gardening leave mean that he is heading to another Premier League club, or to their US owners? If there was no conflict of interest, why not make him work his notice?

Going to chelsea

Really odd

He has literally failed here in his one key objective
