ENIC

Or a huge loss on players they have massively overpaid for

The Chelsea thing looks like one of those take a half decent idea and overcommit to it and watch it burn

- Buying players under 25 is not a bad thing, but you need to you need some leadership/experience in a team
- Buying promising is ok, but you don't buy a team full of promising
- Overpaying for a single player or couple of players you think the manager wants or will pay off (e.g. I think we probably overpaid for Porro & Johnson a little), but not every player and not by huge amounts every time
- Team balance matters more than names/spend, how the fudge you spend £1B and don't end up with a recognized striker is beyond me
- They already would be screwed if "conveniently" Saudi teams hadn't suddenly wanted some Chelsea players (I'm sure nothing to do with Saudi being part invested in the PE that owns Chelsea)

When people go after ENIC/Levy and say they know nothing about football, Chelsea & United say "hold my beer"

So far down a rabbit hole and not big enough to admit they are wrong.

They are buying going players like they are going to run out ... problem is that the players Look bang average and they could not be building a team of youngsters that will have mental blocks

Hahaha how bad are they, half of them are just over paid for punts...

Good that he's admitting his mistakes with the manager choices and seems to be going back to the longer-term view with managers who build a team.

One thing admitting your mistakes. Another learning from them.

This is an opportunity to create an indentity for the club. A philosopy and ethos. Then stick with it.

You hope given the fact its the first forum for a good few years and he got a good reception that he might now realise, he says. He must realise with the whole fab thing, the likes of Udogie, Ange reception, Maddison coming in and hitting the ground, the Bissouma turnaround etc that he is onto a good thing
