*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Fulham FC ***

No surprise, exactly what a lot of us feared would happen when we saw the lineup. PEH and Skipp need to come off. Would give Lo Celso a bit of time with a proper midfield behind him.
Also, need to change one of the FBs they aren't giving anything when they move into midfield. And that's the minimum that needs changing, wouldn't be against making the whole 5 now.

That was poor. Skipp and Højbjerg aren't capable of moving the ball quick enough, or break the press themselves by carrying the ball. They are levels below Sarr and Bissouma. Lo Celso is not able to grab the game like Maddison either.

The front 3 have been largely ineffective in other games too, the drop off in midfield means error have 3 players who can't beat a man or resist a press instead of 3 that can. Can get away with 1 of the 3 on the pitch with 2 of Maddison Bentancur Sarr or Bissouma. Destiny also a huge loss as an outlet. We've got 2 old men down the left.

Yea way too many changes there, 4 or 5 too many. When he spoke of fresh legs I thought he meant in a few key areas, not the whole side.

There’s basically no attacking quality/creativity on the pitch.

Last year we relied on Kane. As soon as he didn’t play we were blunt.

This year we’ve looked less reliant with Son, Madders, Kulu, Bissouma, Sarr and both full backs joining in.

Ange has basically gone back to last years average players minus Kane.

I think people underestimate how limited these players are going forward. Frighteningly blunt as a group.

Do we think the Big man will make any changes at half time? We looked pretty ordinary against Fulhams second string. Its like deja vu from previous seasons in the cup competitions

Sadly, we've seen this happen too many times.... League Cup, FA Cup, Europa League and Europa Conference league...

Too many changes and too many players who aren't of sufficient quality...

Now Ange has seen that this leads to poor performances and i just hope he remembers tonight when the FA cup comes round in January...

COYS
To be honest he could have just asked any Spurs fan what happens in "lesser" competitions when we make this many changes.
That first half!!!? Smh.

Would they be resting tonight if it was a must win Champions League qualifier?

There’s not a chance that all 8 outfield players changed needed a rest.

of course not, but a CL qualifier would be much more important than a domestic cup game

I am sure Ange would have managed the squad in such a way they would be fresh if that was the case. I see nothing wrong with him taking a chance on this. It is just IMHO unfortunate we are facing a PL side.

No creativity with all this possession. So even with three in midfield, we are seeing some of the same problems we saw from last season (as others have pointed out, it looks like 2022/Conte team all over again). Again, not to put all the blame on PEH because I think Skipp hasn't been playing too well today either, but it seems like PEH is a limited player who lacks the ability to dribble out of pressure or move the ball intelligently, and doesn't have the passing range to break the lines except on very rare occasions.

This team would struggle against a League One team !!

The draw was made before the teams were selected.
