That wasn't aimed at you BTW more to the excuse used by anyone who might don a swastika....

No one is screaming and shouting, I'm certainly not here. I'm pointing out as a Jew how it looks and asking is the wording appropriate, I don't think it us, you think it's OK.

We shall leave it there

Sorry, its just I think if the word parasite was loaded and said with some connotation and something along to suggest it was racist I would absolutely agree. Perhaps a better choice in words, but don't think everyone is as educated as each other as some are more simple than others.

I actually agree
I think some of the people repeating the word have no idea of the connotation
The lads I know that have used it can barely read and write (and ideas i know how that sounds from me). They have no real historical knowledge and still believe Facebook tells the truth
Doesn’t make it a defence of course

Common mate, to your reply to me, we are all entitled to our opinion.

That said, it's completely disingenuous not to understand words/symbols can be coempted by a group/movement, as you mentioned the swastika, that has one meaning now, as does a rainbow flag (bad and good example)

Surely you don't believe anyone with a swastika tattoo has it because they want an ancient good luck symbol?

Tbf in some countries they do. I've seen a few people in se asia with tattoos of them. I've also seen ignorant germans lose their brick when they saw them.

As for levy. No him and lewis aren't parasites. The money spurs generates is put back in the club. Recently that money hasn't been spent well. Or we have had managers that haven't got the best out of their resources. Levy and lewis are ultimately responsible for that though.

Lewis is in the Bahamas enjoying the sun though and i doubt he gives an f about if some fans are chanting enic out or not. Unless he decides to sell it's all a bit pointless.

Well that's the circle we are in

I've always said, everyone is entitled to want (and perhaps should) an ownership change, and equally should feel free to criticize what they feel is wrong with club (and there is much). That said, there clearly is a bit of speaking that part aloud when it comes to Levy and we should be aware of that, and you can brick on him and the club without using questionable wording.

The other side is just shouting "I want change" or "this is their last chance" when we have very little in the way of real influence is stupid. It's amazing that fans don't even realize stuff like bitching on social media could be used as a measurement of fan/customer engagement that the club can actually monetize with sponsors, so no, writing a tirade online doesn't actually accomplish what you think it does.

Kind of does though, you get exposure, debate, critique and a reply ...

It's a one-off 20% bonus, not pay rise.
Still a great gesture though.
Will be interesting to see what the other directors get. Obviously their pay isn't linked to footballing achievements and there in lies the fundamental issue with Spurs under Levy.

When COVID struck, Tony Bloom and Brighton's board also committed to fully paying their grounds and matchday staff till the end of the season despite games being postponed and possibly cancelled - they went one further and explicitly rejected furloughing any staff for the duration of COVID, while they took pay cuts themselves.

Our generous Deadweight Dan put our staff on furlough, cut their pay and then allegedly considered having them tend the grounds of his house, until fan uproar forced him into miserably retracting his decisions.

Tony Bloom is not only a better owner - he's a flat out better person and better man in my view than our chairman is, on that alone. No comparison.

Nothing wrong with furlough - it was there to be used.

Club doesn't agree with you - here's their cringing apology statement:

"We are acutely aware that many supporters were against the decision we made regarding furloughing staff … and our intention to apply, if applicable, for the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS).

“Indeed we have seen opposition from fans to fellow Premier League clubs accessing the CJRS too. This once again underlines that we bear different pressure to other businesses, many of whom have and will continue to apply for support from the scheme as the government intended."

Football isn't like other businesses - there was and is a solidarity element to it that mattered, and megarich Premier League clubs seeking to furlough their staff was abhorrent. Not in Deadweight Dan's eyes of course, but thankfully, at least in Tony Bloom's. And in the eyes of our fans who forced the club into backtracking, whom I am very thankful for.

The pressure football clubs bear that is different to other businesses is having fans that shout without thinking first. That's what I read into the statement.

What is it about wasting the club's money that makes him a better owner?

we’re not mega rich, we pretty much break even every year, money stopped coming in and support was there for businesses that had to pause trading

This is a very odd sentiment to me, tbh. You seem to want fans to accept things like furloughing staff as just a rational business decision, but then, if football truly were an entirely rationale business proposition, we would have very few fans left to begin with since we do not offer a competitive product.

Emirates Marketing Project offer the country's best and most competitive product, and are also not run/owned by a useless deadweight.

If fans acted as ruthlessly as the club did, we'd have no fans since everyone would simply switch to City. Yet clubs, and the weird fans defending their amoral decisions, seem to want the best of both worlds - fans that irrationally follow losing teams like ours and fans that accept every abhorrent thing they do as just the price of doing business.

Doesn't work that way. Glad the club were forced into a cringing apology over it.

What is it about wasting the club's money that makes him a better owner?

Caring about the people it employs and the wellbeing of the community it's in, which admittedly is not something a lot of businesses do these days.

Sorry, where's the apology or backtracking in those quotes?

Regardless i don't form an opinion on whether the club agrees or disagrees with me - i see absoloutely nothing wrong with us using the furlough scheme, people got 80% of their wages covered and didn't have to pay for travel to and from work or associated costs with being at work - people i know who were put on it were very happy with it. People were no worse off and the club saved some money

Have Brighton ever paid tax under Bloom?
These holier than though clubs haven’t actually paid tax in the main as they are all loas making
We have paid tax
So if you don’t lax taxes, but take from the tax system you are robbing the normal people

Maybe you should go to city and talk to the staff working there
I have …
They don’t have a great reputation
I know a guy who was selling cleaning machines to clubs
We are the only one that brought new machines and the latest spec
City… second hand and basic as the quote was “it doesn’t matter as we have cheap labour here”..
And the guy selling was a city fan
Don’t kind yourself and think any club is any different. Everyone looks great on the way up

Sorry, here's the bits you asked for.

"In view of supporter sentiment regarding the scheme it is not our intention to make use of the current CJRS that runs until the end of May. We shall consult with stakeholders, including the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust [THST], with whom we have been in dialogue over the past week and who share our desire to protect jobs, should circumstances change going forward.”

We regret any concern caused during an anxious time and hope the work our supporters will see us doing in the coming weeks, as our stadium takes on a whole new purpose, will make them proud of their club.”

As for the furlough scheme, clubs with more of a moral compass did all that, plus paid their staff 100% of their wages (not 80%) out of their own pockets. That's the difference between an owner like Tony Bloom and the deadweight we have.
