Starting to feel that it should be Arne Slot as he seems to tick all the boxes and would be a good fit. I wanted Naglesmann to come in and take the job but that seems a lot less likely now and I do believe maybe we should be looking for a manager who is clearly on the up instead of Naglesmann who whilst young may feel he is better than us.

The options should be Poch, Nagelsmann, De Zerbi and Gallardo.

The first three might not be attainable so I hope we are making positive contacts to Gallardo and his people.

re Nagelsmann: not sure we want another manager who thinks that the Spurs job is beneath them. Given all the comments about JN's arrogance, that has to be a big risk

Absent that, I would agree about Poch or Nagelsmann as lead candidates.

Either way, really hope we're looking to have the next man tied up asap

I think Nagelsmann will be at Chelsea by the end of this week anyway, so that option will have gone

Hang on, Ramos won a trophy, which is apparently all some care about.

AVB set a new record points total

Jose got to a cup final.

Conte pulled CL out of the bag last year against the odds.

According to dear, departed Antonio that was a miracle achievement.

Chelsea are in talks with Nagelsmann so he is off the table now.

As soon as Potter left, it was nailed on that Nagelsmann would go there

In fact, you could argue that if Nagelsmann hadnt been pushed by Bayern, then Chelsea wouldnt have fired Potter (yet).

Amusing that Chelsea sack Tuchel, who a few months later joins Bayern to replace the sacked Nagelsmann, and then Nagelsmann goes to Chelsea

I think he might do well there unfortunately, but at least it would take a distraction off our manager search

He comes with the usual Eredivisie -> Premier League risks, but I would fully be on board with him. He just needs a couple of seasons guaranteed.

The scenario re available managers and jobs is changing every day it seems. Now I’m thinking Slot would be the type of manager Leicester could make a move on very soon. It’s good they have a strong chance of relegation hanging over them, that should make prospective candidates think carefully before committing.

I think, like Tuchel going to Munich, this actually does us a favour. Getting Nagelsmann off the board is good news, he was just another bad fit for us.

Hopefully though this just stirs Levy into bending over and giving Poch everything he wants (his choice of DoF, Cullen gone etc)
I think Nagelsmann would've been (and still would be) a very good fit. Will be a bit galling if he ends up at Chelsea.

Don't let the facts get in the way

Ten seasons before ENIC -> 10th, 15th, 8th, 15th, 7th, 8th, 10th, 14th, 11th, 10th -> 10 years prior to ENIC -> zero top 6 finishes
First ten years of ENIC -> 12th, 9th, 10th, 14th, 9th, 5th, 5th, 11th, 8th, 4th -> First 10 years of ENIC -> 3 top 6 finishes
Post first decade of ENIC -> 5th, 4th, 5th, 6th, 5th, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 4th -> Last 13 years strait -> only been out of top 6 once, In 5 out of last 7 CL campaigns, including reaching final

Fans and media love to quote how many managers the club have hired/fired, in reality the club has improved over the vast majority of the 22 years of ownership. And the fact that we could be 3rd today shows it's still pretty much the same. You would think by now Chelsea & Madrid would have proved manager stability/time in role is not a 1:1 alignment/requirement for success

He won't go anywhere this season. He can get some trophies under his belt with feyenord first. Then we'll see.
