Supposition? Or can you evidence this?

In which way? It is reported regularly that Conte hasn’t committed long term and he often makes sound bites in his interviews for example after Burnley last season in which he talks in ways that leave his long term future unclear. Also he has a contract which runs until the end of the season and then the option. As far as the players may know he could be leaving at the end of the season so this could impact upon their motivation.

He has often left clubs after very little time in the past. And I think it’s too up in the air right now.

Not sure if I misunderstood the point or not.

IN - If we can spend more to get players Conte wants AND plays, like 22 players that he will willingly rotate.

(And within the short contract situation he has.)

Maybe he isn't committing because he doesn't know if he can get the players to buy in.
Rebuilding the squad quality is one thing, but rebuilding the mentality is another, maybe he feels that he isn't a proper fit for that job at this club.

In, for now at least. But need to see some kind of return to both performances and consistency. Then reevaluate nearer the end of the season.

But us being managerless in 135 days is not exactly a neutral or typical situation.

that’s not necessarily the case, for all we know he and Levy have already decided what’s happening, it’s just not been communicated externally

as long as they are the same page, it’s fine, and everything else is just noise

it’s not something fans should be getting their knickers twisted over, although that’s also true for pretty much everything else that happens inside the club

If he was planning to stay, would he have not signed on already? If it's contingent on us getting top 4 again, I think the chances are minimal, especially with our injuries. So I think he's gone no matter what.

With that in mind, he should probably just go now. I just want to enjoy watching Spurs again. West Ham on the weekend? Bothered.

If you're Conte and you wanted a decent centre back and got given Lenglet on loan and a wing back you didn't want maybe you'd be a bit hesitant to commit as well.

An over riding theme with the club is the manager and the board being at odds over players coming in. Seems to be only us and Chelsea that at different ends of the spectrum buy whoever.

I would like him to stay, be more flexible etc but if he goes I don't really see how much changes. In two years time after a bad string of results we'll be back here with Poch or 'New Poch'.

Have to at some point get a joined up long term vision.

We're challenging for 4th and have a chance of a cup win. He just needs to adapt a little (which is meant to be his strength) drop players, rotate players, change play style. I sometimes thing it's like with Jose. Tried to play a more expansive style, realised we couldn't defend for toffee and then played as many defenders as possible. Until we get competent defenders it is kinda hard to judge what a manager could produce.

When are we going to stop begging for the manager to be kicked out and start focusing on getting rid of the weak minded players. We have had enough top quality managers over the last few years, but the same tired weak minded fold under pressure key players who you can guarantee make mistakes.

People talk about 3 at the back, but right now what choice do we have? Romero who is great, but likely to at least be a yellow a game and worse in a back 4 when he lunges forward - Dier? can be 8 out of 10 for 3 games in a row, then passes the ball into our own net, Lloris? Scared to kick a ball, clearly colour blind and thinks opponent is us.

Its not a manager change we need, but a squad refresh of players with the right mentality, and there isnt many better then Conte at building and getting players with that mental hardiness. So for now, he can stay as long as he wants to to oversee that refresh and if it means a season or 2 of crappy football then so be it, because with the players we have now there is no chance we win anything no matter the tactics.

The point is, it is speculation. What is contrctual is we have an option of another year. We might not wish to excerise it. Maybe Conte's heart isn't in the role, maybe it is. We just don't konw.

When has he ever been at a club long enough to go through a refresh?

This is the position imho.

And I think it'll be Conte leaving for personal reasons and going to Italy.
I also suspect it'll be Poch coming in - he pops up around the "spurs family" every few months.

Whether it's right to announce it now or not is tricky.
Conte's health has probably made it a poor choice for the last month or so.
March might be different.

Read that as Marsch might be different!

But late now for us to see if Tuchel can blag us a CL.

he has got previous of coming in mid season and winning a cup. Very good cup manager. Excellent tactician.

I wouldn’t want him long term as he has issues with the man management side of the game, but maybe until the summer and then a rejuvenated Poch to return to see what he can get out of this lot.

although it would be the hardest call in the world for Tunchel to win us the Champs league and then for us to replace him.

In any other industry he'd be given a sideways move and a little 3 month 'consultancy' project to work on.

Perhaps we could move him to 'Assistant DoF (Italy)', with responsibility to cover the areas Paratici is currently suspended from operating in? Get him to pick and then secure the best two U19s playing in academy football over there.
