**** OMT Arsenal v Tottenham Hotspur ****

NLD time again and this is the one I always dread as we have such a woeful record away

They will be all out for revenge after we brutalised them back in May and will come out at 100mph

Venue - Emirates
Date - 01/10/2022
K.O - 12.30pm

----------------Lloris
------Romero Dier Lenglet
Kulu PEH Bissouma Bentacur Perisic
--------------Kane Son

For me we need to go 3 in the midfield with attacking WB's we can't play Emmerson as well as 3 fairly defensive midfielders would mean nothing really in the final 3rd, if Kulu does bomb on one of the 3 could drop back to cover

I just really hope we actually turn up, unlike last season which a total embarassment

Not season defining but it's a huge game especially with how much smoke is being blown up their arses at the moment

Sounds like loads of their players have faked injury to avoid international call-up's too, no shock there really

I'll be in sunny Vilamoura for the weekend and watching it in a bar with my pals, 2 of which are Arsenal and 2 others are Spurs so mightbe better for the sake of the group if it's a draw really

COYS !!!

Well done on getting the team right, however as we know Conte reads my posts and often agrees with me (as he has admitted publicly more than once) then I feel it necessary to say I endorse the team you picked.

I like the team posted in the opening thread and feel Bissouma has to start so that we have 3 in the centre of midfield... The thought of just having 2 in there, sitting back and inviting pressure for 90 minutes is no good for my ageing nerves..

I would also put Kulu at right wing back - but only if i had seen him do it to a decent defensive standard in training.... Royal would be better defensively, but Kulu , of course, gives us so much more going forward..

Watching England play so poorly the other day was so much like watching Spurs at times.... Its very hard to criticise Conte when we look at the results and where we are in the table but i think most of us feel that there is still something missing..

Anyway, COYS.

I hope I'm wrong, I think this Arsenal team is one of the best pressing and passing team at the moment.
They are but their defence isn’t good on the turn and also not great with the ball other than Saliba (who had a mare yesterday)
I also think they have a confidence which we have seen before can also be a a weak link (Ramsdale being one)
I’d go 3-5-2 here and own the middle
We know their injured players will all be back
We should also target whoever they at full backs as that’s their defensive weakness (their full backs are better at attacking)

What is missing wasn't missing towards the end of last season (when we also played 3-4-3) was it?

I would be somewhat surprised if Conte moves to a midfield three for this one. Not utterly against it, but I don't think it's an obvious solution.

More or the same, just a bit better would be my preference. Get/keep Kulusevski in the starting lineup. Let Arsenal have the ball if they want to. Let's see if they're able to stop us from playing well on the break. Trust our defensive and midfield lines to do their job defensively.

Will be interesting to see how this pans out.
Arsenal without a lot of game time recently could go either way.
Their confidence will be high, but its a fragile confidence, and all eyes will be on them, this the big test everyone has been waiting on.

Again for us its there if we want it enough, calm and stoic is how i would be expecting us to play.
I'd be tempted to go four at back with persic on the left, Bentancur and peh in the middle, with harry behind son, Richarlison and kulu.

Wow, but there are some "out there" formations being posted. With the possible exception of Hugo, I think our first XI from this season is available, and therefore almost picks itself, with the exception of the front 3.

Sonny...Kane...Kulu
Perisic...PEH...Bentancur...Royal
Davies...Dier...Romero
Lloris

Even more so if Forster has to come in, as we'd want as well-trained a system as possible.

If Davies isn't fit, then Lenglet. Obviously there's a call between Richi and Sonny or Kulu (I think Kane is sacred in NL derbies), and whether Sessegnon starts rather than Perisic.

Hardly ever get anything from this fixture.
If we manage a draw I'd be happy, get three points and I'll start believing we can win the league.
They'll be bang up for this as usual, I really hope we are too.

What’s missing is a capable right wing back offering an attacking outlet

My formation is purely seasonal.

Expect another superhuman effort from. Their fans will be up for it and we won’t be able to cope with the intensity. Expecting a defeat but hoping the team surprise me and pull it out the bag with a win. Draw would be a very decent result.

Both Sessegnon and Perisic can start.
Perisic at RWB , Sess to stop Saka.
