*** OMT - Tottenham vs Wolves ***

Good second half I thought. We created a bit, they created little. Our defensive shape was really good.

Thought Emerson did well even if he's limited on the ball. The three centre backs were very good. Thought Dier was MOTM. He was outstanding with the exception of one brainless decision when he went all in on Jiminez with that header when 1 on 1. Stupid decision but a colossal performance otherwise. I thought Sanchez did brilliantly too for a lad just coming in. He's not great on the ball but did well defensively.

Harry worked harder than normal and the two CMs stepped it up second half. Thought Sonny was absolutely terrible today but, fudge it, a win, 3 points and a clean sheet. It made negotiating the rail strike worth it.

Crowd were decent too for an early kick off.

COYS, great start and much room for improvement.
Sanchez is great cover for Romero, we aren’t going to find better so I wish some would appreciate him a bit more. Spurs haven’t conceded a goal with Sanchez on the pitch for over 7 and a half hours….

made two important clearances today by being in the right place

Dier poor? Didn't see that at all. Thought he was brilliant. What did you see that I didn't?

looked late and a bit lethargic but that’s asking a lot since his upturn. He has set his marker and must perform all the time as his position is crucial.

Sanchez and Perisic our best players, Richarlson looked great off the bench

Dier, Royal, Hojbjerg, Son were all pretty poor i thought
Sanchez made a small mistake at the end of the first half, but recovered well and had a great game overall. Perisic MOTM. I thought PEH had a good game, Dier played decent, average. Royal played ok too, but comparing his crossing and passing to Perisic... Royal has his limitations going up front

Kane MotM for me. True he was mostly plodding first half but still tested their keeper with a quality header from Perisic's cross just before HT. Then raised his game to another level after the interval. His goal was mainly pretty much all down his to crafty anticipation, the sort that only top strikers can come up with. Also hit woodwork and produced several first-time classy balls and lay-offs to front runners second half.

That was a training ground set piece I believe. I thought our best player was Perisic. Kane fluffed a good chance, as did son, in the penalty box. Both should have scored imo.

Showed in the second half just how much was missing in the first half.

People will inevitably point at individual players in that first half, but for me as a team we just weren't quite at it. Not intense enough off the ball and not brave enough on it. Just something missing.

That happens to most, or every, team. Very good to see us turn a mediocre first half into a much better second half. Hopefully a learning experience for the players that first half.

Wolves are a very good team lacking in end product. Them looking good against us for periods isn't a big deal. But the difference in quality over a full half shouldn't be like it was in the first half.

Thought Kulusevski was very good once again. Richarlison better than Son again. Perisic is a class act as expected. Thought Sanchez looked rusty and we really missed Romero particularly on the ball.
