S?®bastien Bassong is a target for Monaco and the defender is keen to leave Tottenham Hotspur to revive his career at the French club. Lokomotiv Moscow and Rubin Kazan have also shown an interest in Bassong.

Monaco have recruited Claudio Ranieri as their manager, at great cost, and they plan big-name signings as they seek promotion from Ligue 2 and a return to former glories.

Bassong, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers, has fallen from favour at White Hart Lane and, at 25, he is desperate for regular football. He hopes that the Tottenham chairman, Daniel Levy, does not price him out of a move.

Saudi Sportswashing Machine sold him for ?ú8m in the summer of 2009 and Tottenham are keen to recoup their outlay. Bassong has two years left on his Tottenham contract.

Tottenham are close to completing the signing of the Ajax centre-half Jan Vertonghen and they have plenty of other options in the position, even with Ledley King set to announce his retirement.

Youn?¿s Kaboul, William Gallas and Michael Dawson remain at the manager Harry Redknapp's disposal while Steven Caulker is back after his loan at Swansea City, and Ryan Nelsen is expected to be granted a one-year option on his contract.

Idiots. Don't they know he's suspended?

Like Blackburn with Ronaldinho and Raul? :-"

They didn't do it quite like me though :) and their players didn't start putting in transfer requests until a year later so that's something
If they met the requirements of my first theory of transfer subterfuge O:) , I'm pretty sure they would still be in the premier league and Ronaldinho would be reinvigorated

I did say it was blurred :)

My guesses?

Either Ben Stiller or Ronnie Rosenthal...

Also, Daniel Levy's mum has passed away today!

I imagine you don't mean it in anyway shape or form so I'm sorry for posting this, but is the exclamation mark really appropriate? Not attempting to bicker or anything but the puncation mark seems a bit out of place. Sorry if I sound a bit arsy on that point.

Sad news though.

Just heard from a great source that Gylfi might be coming to us.

I normally wouldn't post this if I didn't think this wasn't true but this is a great source. He wanted to go to Swansea because of Brendan Rodgers and now that he's gone to Liverpool he has no interest in going there. He's said in some interview that he's a Man Utd supporter and that he'd never play for Liverpool.

:-k

So, it's NOT true then?

Haha, Icelanders and our English.....but I can actually confirm the bit about him being a massive United fan. Diehard. I don't personally know Gylfi but he trained as a youngster at my local club and a lot of my mates are friends with his friends etc. We were discussing the Liverpool rumor the other day and agreed that he might actually turn them down because of his massive love for United. But in the end, money talks I suppose.

Haven't heard that we're interested in him, but he's been staying here in Iceland for the last few weeks so I don't think he's been over for any medicals or the #1 ride in town these days, the VIP tour of White Hart Lane.....
