And there lies an issue we were at our best when he was in the box being a Pest. Son does not really do that. we need another proper out and out striker. So many times we get possession in final third and there’s nobody occupying the box or giving CBs something to think about. He used to scare the life out of defenders.

I'm struggling to think of a game where Kane has played well alongside another striker. I think that they tend to get in his way and the box gets too crowded.

No. You’re correct. Kane used to be an absolutely world class striker. Now he is some sort of ok deep lying second forward who seems hell bent on playing flashy passes occasionally.

He isn’t that good anymore and looks on the verge of being ready for the glue factory physically.

Movement looks totally off from what it used to be. Balls come in the box and he’s quite stationery I think. I’d like to see the stats on how many chances he’s had from crosses.

The press used to generate some really good chances - that’s pretty much dead now, so everything has to be self developed*. With low movement you’re not leaving yourself many outs.

Edit * from team build up.

Agree with that , I also added after to my post that he now sort of does that to Dele and plays where he used to roam and look good. His deeper role is causing issues to others.

Yes few games earlier in season he was very static in the box . Any good striker will attack the ball in the box. He’s stopped doing it to an extent.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Lo Celso start the game, after putting in a shift midweek... remember, prior to that he'd been getting 4 minutes here and there to protect him.

Then suddenly a full match, and starting another! Well blow me down, the guy must suddenly be fit.

Clearly Lo Celso is not yet fully fully fully fit, so I fully fully fully expected him to be subbed at 60.

Nope! Jeez, if our sports scientists are so fantastic, how can a player go from 4 minutes to 180 in a week?

our form may well be up and down this season.

I like your optimism. Personally I'm just seeing downs in the PL, but if you think there will be some "ups" as well as downs, good on you.

I think that you have to be patient. He is going through a period of transition whilst his game adapts. He's got what it takes to be a really good #10 but it will take time for both him and the team. It's made worse by there being so many other issues in the team.

But why do we want him to be a really good number 10? I want him to carry on being a lethal striker. Why can’t he do that instead? Why doesn’t he want goals anymore?

I don't think it's desire. He's had a number of lengthy layoffs and I don't think his body can do what it used to do. Plenty of great players have dropped deeper as they have got older and Kane has everything to make a success of it. It just won't happen over night.

I don't think we're brick, we are in a bad run.
As often happens at times like this small issues can mount up and fudge you.
Harry hasn't recovered from last week, normally not an issue play, but after the horror show of last weekend not ideal either.
Two senior cbs want out, fine play either dier sanchez or foyth. Dier is just returning and so is foyth.
I do think there was signs today, not many but some.
Before the game I would have been co tent with a draw, but the performance was poor.
10 months and over 30 games. That's some bad run!

Something is wrong with Kane. He's stopped shooting, his first touch is not good, and he wants to take 15 touches in the box before shooting or passing.

Er perhaps because with Ndombele having gone off we didn't have a natural ball player? Would you rather he came off, we brought on Eriksen then played with 10 men.?

Jeez so many expert football managers on here we won't be short of applicants if Poch does go.

He has both hinted at -and even said- that without Eriksen's timing on the passes it is harder for him. It looks like that is true.

Because he is ready to be pushed to that level regularly and wasn't before. It isn't that hard to figure out. You're trying to make it sound very simple. However, before you get too excited, his attempted tackle in the build up to Sheff's equalizer was slow and tired-looking (although the more I look at that goal it is all about not having left sided CB). Can we all agree that seeing LoCelso start to find full match fitness is exciting?
