Next Spurs Manager

Doing well at a tiny club with no expectations is not at all the same as doing well at a club of our status.

Even Poch has yet to show that he's capable of fully making the step up, and he was by far the best of all the tiny club managers. He was a long, long way ahead of Howe when we poached him.

If we got Howe it would also be undeniable proof that Levy and the Board are not ambitious for success on the field and only success off it

I think it would send a signal that we were going to start the Poch period again. Where as I think most of us hope we are further along now.

If it is true Poch turned down Maddison and Brooks. Then maybe Levy will want someone like Howe who can bring those sort of players on.

Simeone has to be the first ask.

Id get behind any of Jose, Allegri, Benitez, probably a few more.

Jose and Allegri wouldn’t fit our business model of signing players young and seeking at 30ish. They want ready made players not players who they need to develop

You need to think of managers who would accept our transfer policy, wage structure and general way of working

This is my view. That at a boardroom level they'll believe we're too far along in the project to be doing mini resets. With Poch at the helm it's obviously different, but when the time comes for a new man to come in it'll be someone who has shown ability to get teams over the line (unless at the time there is some outstanding young candidate in football management which Howe isn't)

He may have turned down Brookes and Maddison, but are they much better than the ones he did want, such as Sane, Mane, Wijnaldum, Keita Balde, Zaha, Barklay etc?
Getting Howe just so we can focus only on those type of signings would say it all...

Fair point on what they’ve done in the past, what if they want a different kind of challenge on their resume?

He doesn't feel like he needs to prove anything

Tbh he doesn’t. He got a rag arse Utd to finish 2nd and pick up 2 trophies. He’s scooped up silverware everywhere he’s been. You might not like his style or his manner but when he is on Sky Sports it is clear he a master of the little scenarios that pop up in games of football. He leaves the other pundits for dead.

I’m not all in on Jose but that’s a great point, we make so many situational errors still.

Mourinho would be a Boris Johnson appointment. Plausible rogue with neon-lit baggage who gives the appearance of intellect when interviewed by sycophants. Only given jobs by desperate short-termists.

Levy and Lewis will want a man who apreciates the club someone who thinks im luckest bugger in getting the job....basically a lap dog for their bull brick, yeah youve got a budget but we will dictate the terms and when we buy...wont be surprised he'll go for the Ajax manager or even Rodgers!!!

Poch surprised Levy greatly,he thought get us top 4 once or twice maybe semi finals or even final of europa cup,and a legue cup final........ watch Levy face when he walked off with Poch after the Ajax game Levy thinking fudge im in the corner here now,ill have to think up bigger excuses now in not supporting my manager.......we should have taking the situation by the balls and sold three or four players and gone for Dybala,Zaha and one or two other high profile players...

Could not agree more. We are between a rock and a hard place?
