*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Some european team ***

Plenty of teams play variants of 4-3-3/4-4-2 without those issues and we played well in the first half, although left ourselves open a little too often.

In the 2nd half the 3 CMs were 30 metres behind the front 3. Their cms just collected it from the defence and played through us.

It’s one thing having a system but it’s another having the players execute it.

But we dont play 4-3-3 though...we play 4-3-1-2...the big difference being that in a 4-3-3 the wide forwards will track back with the full backs. Its a small difference but we got torn apart out wide and in front of our back 4 tnight

Well, those last 15 minutes clearly showed that this team doesn't give it their all for the manager.
I think it's over for Poch, and it looks like this group of players need/want something new.
And to be fair, I'd take Mourinho right now.
At least he knows how to organise a team defensively.

Well that was pretty woeful. Especially after we played so well for the first 30 minutes or so of the game.

Defensively we are awful. I'm not convinced Winks is good enough to play for us if we want to be challenging for big trophies and he certainly can't play at the base of the diamond as he has no defensive positioning at all.

Aurier and Rose also need replacing. I think we may have to revert to 3 at the back for a while to try to sure up a bit defensively and compensate for our full backs defending.

Bayern were fantastic I thought. Sad to say they looked better coached than us. A clear pattern to their play and attacking pace and width up front that they compliment with their full backs. I'm not looking forward to my visit in December!

It’s a nothing powder puff formation. Weaker in attack, weaker in defence.

I wish I lumped on that 11/10 when I saw the team, it was free money I just couldn’t bring myself to bet against us.

You mean a year ago right? Now weeks ago.
Good man for not betting against your team, no matter how tempting.

This was a slap in the face we fully deserved, tbh.

I just wish I knew what was wrong with the place. Poch has made tactical errors galore in the past couple of months - that diamond, asking Hugo to play out, the horrors at right-back. But the players have looked knackered, the mood has been ominous, there have been back-room issues....this is what we had to look forward to after the CL final?

Poch stays, there is no question about that. 5th or 15th. Turn on him next season if you must, but at least give him the luxury of a bad year after five beautiful ones.

But I know I'm not alone in thinking that we're now barreling downwards from our brief moment in the sun. And only Tottenhan could come close to every major prize in a five-year period of glory, and win absolutely none of them - not even a motherf*cking Carling Cup.

He had a bad year last year - it just took until January for the results to start catching up.

I really don't think that the issue is formation. We played well in the first half. We made simple mistakes against a very good side and then folded. Our manager wanted to sell three of our back four that started tonight. I think that he made a mistake being so public about the players he doesn't want and our failure to move them on has left him with a problem in the dressing room.

Totally brought it on himself. Naieve in the extreme.

New Tottenham:-

Diamond midfield
Kane out of position
Son/Lucas played as a central striker in a pair
Winks & Sissoko in midfield
No pressing
No fitness
Aurier madness
Players off form
Lots of injuries
Want away players
Awful away record
Conceding goals for fun
No width + flat fullbacks

What else have I missed???....

When did we last concede 7 goals in any competition? Last time I remember was when we lost 7-1 to Saudi Sportswashing Machine back in 97 or something. I was 12 and cried my eyes out. fudging disgrace.
