I think he was poor today in most things he did. I acccept he didn't have much room out there, and Son and Moura were stepping on his toes, but he still played badly.

I gave Kane a pass last week but he was dreadful today. It was tough but his touch was off and he fluffed a sitter.

Just way too patient on the ball.
We had the likes of Rose, Walker-Peters, Sanchez and Sissoko on the ball in the build up. None of which can spot a pass to save their lives.
Complete lack of movement from the 3 'creative' players Moura, Son and Lamela.

Previously Poch teams used to be successful at pressing and winning the ball back. It didn't matter when if we played more direct and lost the ball. We won the ball back high up the pitch.

We don't do that anymore.

We're now like how we used to be under Redknapp. We'd struggle at home breaking down teams. Eventually he would stumble into the right setup by changing the formation or making a sub. And we'd look good from 70 minutes onwards. That's where we are back to.

There are plenty of top top managers around! He seems to have lost the ability to inspire the team. He needs to inject some mojo into the team. Very difficult if you dont have it yourself.

I think that we need to see how we play once we know what his new team looks like and the new players are up to speed. Dele was a big miss today too.

I think that you are just projecting your opinions onto the players with talk of inspiration and mojo. Go back and look at his and the players responses to the City and Ajax CL results last season. It is clear that he has a very strong bond with the players and that he can get great performances out of them.

I said last year I’d happily give him a 10 year contract and what he’s done here has been amazing. I stand by that. But I’d like to get the feeling he wants to be here and I’d like to see some enthusiasm. What I’m seeing right now feels like an unhappy man who won’t be here in 12 months.

Our form is right up there with Watford haha. Changing styles is not the problem because if we were good enough our old style would be getting us points. It is Poch trying to be to clever and switch things around to much and the players not wanting to or not being able to understand it.

Exactly we had a system and style that works for us, our problems started when the manager started getting creative.

I agree.

But I also think he needs to show more interest on the side.

But I can see this being the beginning of the end for him

Milo, I admire you trying to keep a level head while we’re all losing ours but it was fudging Saudi Sportswashing Machine at home. We should be able to pick a team from this board to beat them. It was a travesty of a performance.

I'm not sure what to say about that display, other than a few cases of us clicking in 2019 it's clear that our performances have been well below previous seasons and we got what we deserved today, nothing.

It feels like the league has figured us out and Poch has not adapted our style to keep us ahead of our opponents and we are now so predictable to the point that Steve Bruce can come to White Hart Lane and get a result with a team that'll do well to stay in the league this year.

That’s the thing for me, we’ve changed, the league didn’t figure us out we stopped pressing, we started building slowly from the back rather than targeting 3/4 man breaks, we play scared, we are not aggressive enough, the swagger has gone.

I think he’s checked out.

How is he meant to satisfy you that he is showing interest in the side? I think that everything will settle down once the European window closes and we will steadily improve up to November when we really begin to hit our stride. It's the same every season.

We were brick. No excuses. Most people on this board picked the same team bar Lamela for Eriksen.

Showing actual interest, just adds to the random comments in the media.

I hope you are right

I agree with you but to also contradict myself, it started when Winks and Sissoko became our default starting midfielders as well as his obsession with getting Son playing centrally.

You keep making excuses for Poch. He had huge talent available to him today and against Villa, and for both games we played like plonkers. Where is our style, energy, effort, flair, pressing, hunger gone? That is all down to Poch. What we all admired about him in his first couple of seasons, seems to me to be slowly disappearing. We are playing more like an AVB team ( sans Bale) . I really don't want to watch that style of football. Dele alone will not fix that.

But we usually end the season on good form. The worry is the second half of last season with the start we've made this one for me.

That’s a pretty big difference with just that swap. The attitude was also off today. They wanted it an awful lot more than us. That’s on the manager.

We were knackered all of last season. The WC fudged us and we had no pre-season. I don't think that form carries over from one season to the next. We are just having our typical slow start.

It's not. It is a lot easier to sit with ten men behind the ball and snap than it is to find a way through. We made things harder for ourselves with the selection but the players best suited to finding a way through were unavailable (bar Eriksen).

He's always been a little like that. It's what goes on behind closed doors that matters and the players clearly love him.

Does that matter ultimately though. If I underperformed at my job and was rewarded for it I'd love my boss as well. Like I said as a fan I want to see good football. If I'm not seeing good football then it has to be winning football.

We're not getting either.
