Transfer Window Thread

Ericksen notwithstanding

Who do we think will be off to market in these next windows?

EDIT Other than the usual suspects Janssen, NKoudou or Llorente etc.

And drop Foyth out of the EPL squad, as well as the CL one?

Or - and this is a bit radical so stay with me here - sell someone like Janssen or NKoudou or Llorente who are next to useless to free up the spot?

As well as Foyth is doing (big fan) I wouldnt want to leave us short. And as has been shown MANY times, players rarely slot in straight away from the off with us.

Getting in someone like DeLigt, allowing them time to settle, and then balancing things in the summer makes much more sense.

We've already got 19 players for 17 spots - Janssen and Nkoudou are already outside the squad.

A new signing without selling 3 first would mean we'd have to do the same to Llorente or Vorm.

Dembele, Wanyama, Alder and Rose. Same as the summer.
I would add Trippier and Davies to that if the right upgrade became available.
Possibly the same with Son.

I expect us to go for one CM in Jan and one in the summer to balance the squad.
So then only exceptional improvements.

I genuinely can't think of a better WF/CF in the world for our set-up.

In fact I think the whole quality, blend and balance of our 5 AMs is pretty much perfect at the moment

Neither can I. But that's why they are the pros!!
And sometimes it's just for freshening things up.

I still think one top quality centre-mid is what we need to buy most of all, especially as Dembele and Wanyama seem to be crocked now. Sissoko has stepped up, but for me his level is of a solid squad player (he's been excellent lately, but I won't get too excited just yet). He's a first teamer in the form he's in, but I'm not convinced this is permanent. If it is, then maybe we can invest in a midfielder who is more potential than the finished article.

Then nick the lad from West Ham in the summer to compete with Dier.

I've said many many times before but having three foreign keepers is plain stupid. Either use Whiteman as 3rd choice or sign a 35-38 year old who is happy to make up the numbers in the squad for a couple years and coach the youth keepers

I love Son.
But he can be a bit streaky and is probably at his ceiling. He also has a good value currently.
So If (if!!!!) a more exciting option became available, I wouldn't rule it out.
For example, if Hazard became available, Son would go.
Or Mbappe (before he moved to PSG).
