***OMT - Spurs vs FC Barcelona***

I told someone that insulting Spurs is like insulting someone’s religion. I can’t see the difference. I’m atheist and so from my perspective, at least Spurs exist. I can understand if any of you are religious and have alternative views. I have just had so much brick in my life that I’ve given up on any notion of a religion.

Some amazing moments today.

Lloris rushing out like that, just incredible.

That moment when Coutinho shot poorly and it rebounded back up in the air... Coutinho is falling off the pitch but has the presence of mind to spin and loop a volley back onto the pitch, at which point Rakitic performs a worldie off the ground volley, smashing it in off the post. The chances of that sequence of play happening must be ten thousand to one.

The double dummy from Coutinho and Suarez to let Messi score, then another dummy from Suarez to let Messi score, crazy stuff.

Lamela's skewed shot which took a massive deflection to beat Ter Stegen, it was going well wide.

Harry's goal.

Lloris charging out again and then charging out again and Toby saving his blushes.

Sissoko's shot.

Winks chasing down Messi and tackling him with his bum.

Crazy stuff, good entertainment.
 
CL now gone for this season and we were never going to win it anyway, so I’d prioritise the league and domestic cups until we drop into the Europa League. Depending on how the league looks then I’d love to be in a position to really go for that.

Oh, and Hugo’s heads not right. He needs to be dropped until it’s properly sorted. Give Son a rest too while we’re at it - he was horsebrick tonight.

Is a 1-0 scoreline classed as better than a 2-1 in the head to heads?

Thought Wanyama did well tonight and Winks was excellent.

Have high hopes for them both now :)
 
Just watched the highlights of PSV vs Inter

Inter were MASSIVELY lucky again tonight. Their keeper handled outside the box in the first half (a mad dash like Lloris) but was only yellow carded.

And for the winner the PSV keeper rushed out (a mad dash like Lloris) and smashed his own player out of the way, so Icardi could tap it into the open net.

Wanyama was not good IMO. Too far away from the CB's most times tonight which left a big hole in front of them, and he let his runners go too often. Looked very rusty and a little unfit to me.
 
Well so many things we should have done or didn't.
Its like nothing is happening for us ..that's just it nothing lol. 2 of our best players out..a goalkeeper with .GHod I just don't know. Hugo can be great but he nearly always has a gaff and not exactly the best time to come back in this CL game.
Let's face it not exactly a great start at the beginning of this season. No signings no new stadium ..Son not playing! And off course Hugo,s mishaps.
Like we always get a bad ref in important games. What else can we add...were getting a bit sexy again although some great fight by some of the players in the game, you can't ask more than that in the position we are in.
More than anything maybe we should have signed a player to strengthen our side.
Surely we have a talented enough squad to win something this season. Or.....is something missing?
Is everybody happy how Poch is rotating the squad,you have to play your best players for the big games but its easy in hindsight when its not you who has to work things out.
Anyway enough waffling..rant over!

I agree with dropping Hugo. That first mistake rushing out was incredible.
