OMT: Manure vs Mighty Spurs

Whilst I deplore drink driving, I expect Hugo to start on Mon night. He seems apologetic and has, as far as I'm aware, a pretty decent track record rather than have a history of this sort of thing. I dont see what benefit banning him for a game would do - fine him a couple weeks' wages and move on

Might be a big leap of faith to start Winks but if you can only play Dembele for a half do you start him to try and control the early part of the game or the second half - I’m beginning to think the latter as we do sometimes allow teams back into games when we’ve outplayed them. The only thing Utd have over us is the meteorology to spoil a game to get what they want, once we overcome that we should be a lot better than them footballing wise. The defeat against them in the cup and Juve was frustrating by the last step this young team needs to overcome to win a pot.

Personally, I would use Dembele from the bench nowadays. I think his role is now best suited to being brought on to control the midfield when it looks like we may be losing it. He did this role to perfection against Fulham and I believe that given his age and injury record, he is best suited to this role from the bench now. To start him knowing, as we do, that we can only rely on him for 60 minutes, means we potentially can lose control of a midfield that up to then (with him) we had been dominating.

Will be interesting to see how Pochettino handles this one. Lloris has let the team down, as our captain. Not by a lack of determination, bravery or desire, but by a severe lack of professionalism.

He did play 90 minutes against England not that long ago in the World Cup. He didn't play particularly well, but he didn't play that well from the start so I don't think that can be put down to his injuries/fitness issues. More match fitness/form.

Went on a very fluid run of starting games last season, half a year ago. Is there Ashby reason to think his injury issues are much worse now?

Pochettino and the medical staff should have a good understanding of his injury issues by now. This seems like exactly the kind of game he should start if he's fit enough. Particularly with Winks just returning from injury.

Is it just me or are you too sick of losing to these baw bags. I would love to see us smash these lot on Monday, they are due a doing. After years and years of misery we are the better team and there’s no better time to play them. Feck winning silverware if we want to be considered top 4 or better we need to be smashing it in games like this. I want to see us go for the jugular straight out of the blocks. I want to see poch’s wolf pack hunt this wounded animal. COYS

Baw bag, good Scottish phrase there :)

Pochettino seems to be communicating a similar message to the players.

Much more positive about this after the Fulham performance than after the Saudi Sportswashing Machine game. No doubt it will be tough, but we won't get a much better starting point before a game at Old Trafford.

Just a shame we have to wait all weekend for it. Really excited about this game and in no mood to wait.

Hmmm, not sure.

If only there were some form of convienemt global communications network readily available, where at the touch of a button I could instantly and effortlessly access all the worlds breaking news, simply at the touch of a button.

;)
bit late laddie, I asked that before anyone posted

anyhoo, Lloris should play and Kane as Captain, let's grab another away win

The key to Monday night is belief. I expect united to turn up on Monday after that horror show of a performance they put in against Brighton but we are more than capable of going there and beating them if we believe.

If we go there and give the same kind of wishy washy, gutless performance we usually give at OT and in big away games in general then they will play chicken, park the bus and scrape the usual 1-0 against us. We need to get the first goal tomorrow. If united take the lead we’ll struggle IMO.

I’d go with the same lineup as last week.

I have heard mystical tales that there are other internet based breaking news sources; beyond even that of the reach of the “glory-glory Hugo Loris” thread....

Message to the players...

The narrative of this game is not about Jose Mourinho. Too many times we have come to Old Trafford retreated into our shell and played within ourselves.

We must not let this happen again because this is our time and this game needs to be about us...our passion, our work ethic, our creativity, our bravery on the ball.

Not Jose's redemption but our football philosophy.

Old Trafford has been starved of fearless, inventive and creative football so go and feed them. Show their fans you can match a Jose side for organisation, passion, and a relentless drive to win that second ball.

Match that and surpass it but most importantly let's make them play at our speed and high tempo.

Then show them speed of thought...intelligent movement fast passing excellent close control and the camaraderie of a group of talented individuals that have played together for so long that it feels like our 11 are using telepathy.

Everything else is just noise and irrelevance because this is our time to achieve something!

It's not about Jose or whether or not he is still relevant! It's about showing that Tottenham Hotspur are!

So go and do what we know your capable of and you believe in yourselves you can achieve.

Go and win because if we want our dreams of winning the big title's to come true...there's no better place to showcase our desire and hunger than in the Theatre of Dreams.

Totally agree, but as far as the media are concerned this game is all about Moanhino, if we win it will all be about him, if we lose it will all be about him, they set the agenda and the sofa fans and pub experts follow it like sheep.

This isn’t actually the real OMT is it?

Can’t be as Tottenham isn’t the first name. Tsk tsk... Instant Ban?
