Bale. Could we? Would we? Should we?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44281572

No quotes or sources, so make of it what you will.
When I saw the headline I naively thought there would be a quote to back up such a definitive statement. I know all the economic reasons why this shouldn’t happen, but if outstanding debts, new sponsors, ‘being brave’ and the desire for regular football made it happen it would be the biggest ‘statement’ signing since Klinsmann.

Oh and chuck Modric in the deal as well and let them match any accepted bid for dele or Kane.

I think that was leaked by Bale’s camp as a kindness. I think they care about Spurs fans and don’t want us getting our hopes up (he bothered to ask for a statement to be put on our website saying he was sad to leave when he joined Madrid) He isn’t coming here sadly.

Dogschitt article that I don't think had any source other than the lees in the writer's glass of wine. Says Bale was "linked" to ManU. Here's how that works.

Gareth Bale considering offer from Spurs.

There. He's 'linked'. According to 'a source' on a Spurs fan forum.

It’s the BBC. I don’t think they put things out there with such certainty unless they have a good source. I know there wasn’t a quote in the article, but there doesn’t have to be.

No one was more excited on these pages about the prospect of Bale than me, but I don’t think it’s gonna happen. It will be Martial or Pulisic.

Dreadful little place. Written for fans. By fans, apparently. And not very well.

Gold dives into any web forum mentioning Spurs and sucks up to readers to hit links to his site.

Gotta say, the fawning over Gold’s article that he put out on the history of Poch at Spurs a couple of days ago absolutely baffled me. No new information, literally just typing out all the publicly available information in order and sending it out...everyone on Twitter going crazy for how good it was. He seems like a decent bloke and does get some access to interview players but I much prefer Kilpatrick and Ben Pearce.

I think it could happen, 80m or thereabouts and he’ll take 150k a week plus a massive chunk of profit from Bale related sales as he’d rather play for Poch than Jose.

More likely Spurs themselves, for two reasons. One it aint happening, and two - if you really can't give the idea up - so Spurs are under the radar and any bidding club doesn't think about a figure we might match!

Of course Bales wages preclude the transfer to us, any nob knows that. So now his stock is high again its an easy article to write with the certainency that we can not afford his wages. They may or may not have been tipped off by Spurs therefore.

If Bale needed to move to play, hadn't just won the CL, and there wasn't interest from united etc then maybe we could have worked something out with RM and him to get him playing. Now...forget it. Spurs will keep a passing interest but 98% he won't sign for Spurs. With a 2% margin or error :p

I really think Eriksen will thrive in a deeper role next season.

He will make us tick and provide the ammunition for Son, Lucas, Bale, Dele and Kane to incredibly devastating effect.

I predict that not only will we pick up a domestic cup next season, but that it will be joined but either the PL or CL.
