Bale. Could we? Would we? Should we?

Age is against him but his work rate and flexibility make him ideal for a Poch side.

Age, he's injury prone, cost.

He's is Toby, just twice as expensive....:(

I just can't make a case with my head. My heart would love it.

Don't worry after the MOM performance in the biggest club game of the season he will sadly go to Manu or Bayern. Bale had been slightly under the radar with people thinking he's past his best for the money - like some posters on here. The bicycle kick screamer just catapulted him back to an elite level player in peoples consciousness. There was a window to snag him at a fair price, but I think its probably gone now. He might even stay at RM after winning them the CL.

I think there's a slight glimmer of hope.

If the new stadium sponsor wanted to contribute a bit extra to make sure we got him, or that Levy and Enic decide that the shirt sales and publicity would pay for it.. It's unlikely but I can dream.

Manchester United ready to move for £200million Gareth Bale after Zinedine Zidane snub

GARETH BALE suffered an amazing snub from Zinedine Zidane after his Champions League wonder goal.

The Real Madrid boss did not speak to his match winner for over THREE HOURS after the 3-1 final win over Liverpool.

Now Manchester United could move in for Bale, who would cost upwards of £200million plus £650,000 a week in wages.

ZZ left Bale on the bench for an hour, with the Welshman netting his wonder goal 122 seconds after coming on.

But when he was asked if Zidane had said anything in the three hours after the final whistle in Kiev, Bale shook his head.

Asked to confirm whether Zidane had spoken, Bale gave a firm: "No."

It illustrates the massive problem between the two, with Spanish midfielder Isco being preferred for the final.

Now it is up to Real president Florentino Perez to persuade Zidane they should keep the 28-year-old superstar.
United have previously tried to sign Bale, who has now won four Champions League titles in five years with Madrid.

The forward would, however, have concerns over Old Trafford boss Jose Mourinho and his style of play.

The player's agent, Jonathan Barnett, will meet Perez in the next two weeks.

Bale made his feelings clear when he said: "I should be playing week-in and week-out and I haven't been.

"I'm going to sit down in the summer and seriously consider what move to make next."

Yeah can see united paying that

I’d be stunned if he went for more th. went for when we sold him and actually would expect him to go for less

The wages thing... well he is on £350k after tax isn’t he now so that’s a killer for everyone other than PSG, United, City and Barca

Best we can hope for is Bale tying up United’s wage pot and then being injured [emoji856]

Thing is I think he could come back stronger - as he did with us after a year plagued by injury.

Quite likely he’ll stay at RM imo. Especially if Ronaldo really does want a new challenge.

Its good that the first option has become public. If there's a view that we might exercise that and could somehow afford him, it can put off buyers. I'm not convinced that Utd would go for him - they already have the problem that Sanchez and Pogba need to play centrally, as does Lukaku, and its not obvious to me how signing Bale makes them become more of a team, rather than just a collection of highly paid individuals.

Chelsea are in desperate need to some good news so can see them going for him, assuming they can afford him. Ditto Arsenal. I dont see Liverpool wanting him...Man C obviously cant be ruled out

He's not going to stay at Real, for whatever reason Zidane doesn't rate him, he's not even first sub option.

The report re 200M is absolute flimflam, but Bale and Toby could win United the league, Jose could play his awful brand of ultra defensive football (8 defensive players) and just rely on 3 attacking players (Bale being one) to hurt the opposition.

Anyone who questions if we could get Bale is on point, anyone who questions if we would take him if possible is insane (he is a level above, nobody would question us taking Hazard, Bale is a better player than Hazard)

It is opinion, but a lot of truth in it.
Yeah that’s what I said, could easily end up being the truth. But is based on a lot of assumptions, and with our consistent CL participation and moving into new stadium our purse strings might have a different threshold now and again for available top quality players, who knows....

Chelsea are not in a position to pay those wages
Their in a poor position now financially and Roman has clearly stoppped backing the club
It’s now sell to buy and their not paying mega wages
Bale would cost them 6 players wages ... and their not in the CL

Yeah zero chance of going to chelsea, he's obviously not going to join a little Europa league team.

It's clear he's coming back to Tottenham.

I suspect it's all been agreed already and levy will now work on Perez to get him for a reasonable fee. They still owe us a shed load of money from the first deal, so we'll probably write some of that off and come up with a figure that sounds good for both parties.

I suspect when he joins, Gareth will get a large signing on fee with huge bonuses for winning trophies, that way we can make the basic wage work for both parties.

And don't forget personal sponsorships and endorsements, which normally far outweigh the superstar players' basic wage.

I suspect when he signs we'll announce the new stadium naming rights at the same time for maximum exposure.

The UK government weren't even giving him a visa without him explaining where his cash was from - groveling basically. If I was Roman I'd be less inclined to spend his 'hard earned' (or stolen depending on your outlook) in the UK now. Would be nice to see them fade and realise what Ken Bates almost achieve all those years ago - financial ruin!
