I'd be surprised, and a bit miffed, to see us shopping around at clubs below us in the PL, unless the player in question is young enough to have plenty of room for improvement. Like @glasgowspur says, we're trying to improve an already good squad, we're not going to find that sort of quality down there. We'd only end up with another over-priced turkey (sorry Siss).

I'd expect more signings like Davinson and Serge, decent money but from foreign leagues, and a bit of a punt as to how they'll make it in the PL. I'm not worried about them finding the players to buy, just whether Danny Boy can curb his deadline day fetish.

So would I, but realistically I just don’t see the finances being available at the level needed to implement such upgrades.

Whoever we sign we will have to pay too much for them, just bite the bullet and get a special player rather than 2 or 3 average options.

I've never been a spend, spend, spend fan but the current team has lots of good players no world class players. If we want to compete in league we must get that player who can turn losing games into winning games. There is too much pressure on Kane to get the goals, others chip in but do not reach the level of consistency we need to rely on.

Mata doesnt fit the bill, he isnt emerging talent, he is on the downslope of his career. And as much as I like him, I dont see that we need him at all.

Zaha Id be all over, and does fit the bill. Emerging talent, set to improve, will be out of our league before long so get him now...
