"Champions of 3rd place, we know what we are"

You don’t think we’re on a bad run?

Then factor in:

1. Missing out on the CL because of fudging lasagna
2. Missing out on the CL because Chelsea, under a hopeless manager, beat a German side on penalties in Germany to win the Champions League
3. Missing out on the CL because Ben Foster got injured in the warm up and Fulop gifted Arsenal 3 points
4. Missing out on second place and finishing above Arsenal for the first time in over 20 years because we imploded spectacularly

We’ve had a tendency to shoot ourselves in the foot whenever we’ve had the chance and then Lady Luck has shot us in the other foot. Bitch.

So, forgive me if I feel that we’re gearing up for the most sexy Spurs-up of all time. Beat Chelsea in the first time since forever at their place and then gift those racist rent boys a CL spot at our expense. Only Spurs.

If there’s a problem with my mentality, it’s because of decades of mental scars inflicted by the club that, even if they inflict the biggest one of all, I know I’d still love as long as my arse looks south.

If my wife did this to me, I’d divorce her. If the kids did it, I’d disown them. But damn you Tottenham Hotspur, no matter what you do, no matter how much pain you cause me, you’ll always be my team.

Top 4 with two games to go and a great run in the champions league. I’ll take that.

If you get off on being a sad sack...then ..........

We'll be fine. Leicester is as close to a guaranteed 3 points as you can get. They have so many injuries and a couple of suspended players (Albrighton and Slimani, if I'm not mistaken) that they will be putting out a B team. So as long as we draw tomorrow and Chelski doesn't beat Huddersfield and Saudi Sportswashing Machine by an insane amount of goals, we're good. Will be falling over the line, which will leave a bit of a bad taste in the mouth, but all that will be forgotten when we are playing CL in our new stadium.

After surviving “lasagne-gate”, “mind the gap” and “we put the pressure on” I’m sure you’ve also developed the coping mechanisms to get over it should the worst happen!

However I’m confident that our next 2 opponents are already thinking about their summer holidays whilst the other 3 contenders for CL spots have their minds on cup finals, which will allow Kane to accomplish the three-peat of Golden Boots as we snatch 2nd spot

I so hope you're right! been so miserable since West Brom. Im such a sad clam

You've been MEGA POSITIVE for the last month, but before that you were full of doom and gloom e.g.

My pessimism radar is pinging away this morning.
Madrid look like they will be wanting a manager replacement in the very near future.
Pochettino will be high on the list with a big bonus of 'maybe' a route through to Harry.

That first half on Saturday was dreadful and it's far from isolated. The starting eleven was odd and they went out half cooked. Now I'm not saying you have to be screaming Lord Klopp on the touchline but a little bit of enthusiasm would not go amiss.

"The Book" we will park that little tome. I could not care less his reasonings behind this or that he's our football manager, not some hippie eastern swami.
I just cannot get my head are his teams performance in that first half on Saturday and his record in the big away games in the league. The City 'performance' was a great example of a 'insipid' and I have to sadly say 'defeatist performance'. Everybody just shrugged and offered this seasons mantra used by all teams 'what did you expect, it was City!'

I agree no need to go ape brick on the touch line but when you are out animated by Roy Hodgson you need to turn up/on the enthusiasm switch.

I think we do have a problem as a fanbase tbf and im not refering to recent debates on here im talking with regards to in the stands - we don't tend to get behind the team when things go against us or when they need a bit of a lift, was evident at Wembley in the semi recently, the nerves were on display from the outset - was actually quite taken aback by it when i got to my seat

I haven't been to WHL for some time last time was the chelsea game around 4 years ago and that was in a posh box with prawn sandwiches et al.
But going back our fans were always mentally scarred from the drubbings from Arsenal and everybody else along the way.
Was talking to one of the lifeguards at swimming (where else?) a part time Spurs fan and he was gutted by the SF defeat, like so many on here.
It's as though the Chelsea win at SB, Real and Liverpool wins never happened. Its like these fans where catapulted back in time...reliving all the agony of the past.

After about 4 years my brain archives these 'trivial' things which they really are and I'm football junky.....
Today is a brand new day COYS.

I've been searching for some positivity all morning ahead of tonight to try and lift my mindset. I finally read some, and yet I'm struggling to believe it!! :( :(

Saudi Sportswashing Machine are, in essence, a good championship level side.

They have very little real quality, and get by more on having a solid shape than anything.

Dwight Gayle is not premiership standard (watch him score now [facepalm]), the midfield is brick, the defence broadly is except Lascelles and the GK. Kennedy in attack looks handy, but otherwise Ritchie is the danger man, a player Bournemouth saw fit to sell and havent missed.

We really *should* expect to beat them with relative ease.

Personally I think its going to be typical of whenever we come up against organised sides. We get an early goal? We will cruise it, they are forced to open up eventually and we pick them off. We fail to get a goal? Well the longer its 0-0 the less inspired we become and then its squeaky bum time...

This.
We need someone to step up and MAKE IT HAPPEN, score or win a pen or just stop fannying around and "after you Claude".
Or bring on Llorente and Sissoko with 6 minutes to go :)

Right. High tempo, straight for the jugular from the off. No AVB styley fudging around until 70 mins. 3 goals first half, pragmatic 2nd half. fudge off FSW.

Just like we did against Liverpool, Dortmund and Real!

This is the one big thing that riles me with Pochettino.
A quick start look like to be more by luck than by design.....that from a 'top' manager is unbelievable

I'd file it under smooch of positivity.

i think the players are devastated too. It was the last chance of winning a trophy this season. They themselves know they must start winning something as a group and the longer it goes the more the doubts and pressure from everyone builds.

The media are blowing this totally out of proportion as usual.
They keep repeating all this “Spurs need to win trophy” is just more hype and drivel that the media use to stire fans up as they do with many other clubs!
We are a very easy target due to fragility!
And yes the Spans fans lap it up!

As for the players, I think they would have to obviously liked have won, but they want that after any loss.
