"Champions of 3rd place, we know what we are"

Big opportunity for us to show we are changing our mentality, six points and we are 3rd. Simple as that. No choking, no relying on goal difference, six points and we are third. We simply must make it happens

200% this and that’s what Poch should be saying. At the start of the season, most people (me included) thought we wouldn’t make top 4. We have a chance to finish third behind the biggest club in the country and the most wealthy having not had a home game all season. That would be a hell of an achievement.

And Rapeceister always up their game for us. I expect Vardy & Mahrez to score wonder goals...

It amazes me how players at other teams all try to play their way into world cup squads while our players try to rest up before the world cup. It is something I have been saying on here since the days of Christian Ziege. I can see the headlines now, Vardy scores wonder goal to cement world cup place against out of sorts Kane.

I was listening to this afternoon’s football on Radio 5 as I was planting up my garden pots and let it run through to the Wenger farewell (urgh) and then the phone in. And in all that time I don’t think I heard any mention of Spurs falling out of the CL places, only whether Chelsea could nick the spot from Liverpool. I have to say it surprised me that we weren’t being talked down. Maybe that’s all to come next week. But I certainly didn’t get the impression that failure on our part is expected.
I totally understand the defensive mechanism that makes people fear the worst but at Wembley on Wednesday and Sunday we (fans) need to have full belief in the team. No negative atmosphere. Hopefully Wednesday will see a better turn out than the Watford game as well.

Despite our poor recent form, a poor result at the weekend and a general downbeat feel to the end of out season...we have 2 home games against mid-table teams who have been in gash form themselves. 2 games, 2 wins and we finish in 3rd place, with nothing anybody else can do about it. We have the players to get it done and the coach to get them performing, we've been in the top 3 the last 2 seasons. So let's just get it done, phuck everything that has gone before. 2 games, 2 wins, 3rd place.

I agree - But these teams ‘in gash form’ are the ones that usually worry Spurs fans the most:D

Yeah, but we had nothing to play for and their players were playing for PL transfers. Not the same situation.
We had second place and finishing above the goons for the first time in about 50 years, at stake. That should have been more than enough of motivation!

Exactly. Lollerpool are in a more precarious position than we are. Imagine they get pipped by Chelski and lose the CL final. That would be priceless.

No, we didn't have anything to play for. After missing out on the title, whether we finished 2nd, or 3rd made no difference. As for finishing above Woolwich, I really don't think the players saw it the same way the fans do.

Small fry when the league has just been finalised and CL places already settled. May have been big for us fans but i don't think the players had the same sense of rivalry at that point. I don't think finishing second was on their minds at all going in to those last two games
