Mauricio Pochettino - Sacked

Actually mate, I know you are being sarcastic, but he does ... he was a pro for club and country, has his badges, and has been a successful manager, to say any of us know more than him is a little egotistical.

That said, he's not immune to mistakes or more realistically, calculated plays that don't work out.

Re todays selection, I would think he's balancing fitness with who he wants to play in next 3 -4 games, nothing more than that.

And you cannot blame the manager for players missing a succession of sitters or the ref turning down clear penalties. An early goal and it is a different game.

Exactly this for me and I am a strong believer of goals in 5th or 85th minute its the same, we got what we deserved and that was the win. There are bigger battles out there and Son and Moura are managed in a way thats right for bigger fights, Lamela continues his come back as does Wanyama and Aurier as poor as he is continued his learning in a low risk game within reason (What I mean there is all his mistakes came in their final 3rd not ours)

I enjoy the choices we now have, for far to long we've had a decent first 11 but little to back them up, now we have 17 or more players fighting for starts with only 4 or 5 being certs. Form will go up and down, but we are starting to be a team nobody really wants to play.

You're right. I was being sarcastic. I just find it sanctimonious of some (not you) who can't or won't acknowledge he is capable of making mistakes.

I have a healthy scepticism of all "experts " no matter what their qualifications in whatever field. I have never doubted for one moment that he knows more than me about football. As I have repeatedly said, I think he is doing a great job, but that doesn't give him carte blanche on absolutely everything. Others are entitled to alternative views and opinions. It's what makes the world go round and would make a fans forum very dull if we all merely accepted every team selection, formation, tactics, substitutions etc as gospel as if handed down by some all-knowing, all seeing, deity. That is all.

Incredible. You, Sir, are unique.

Maybe an afternoon of recapping the rules on any set piece / dead ball situation might be worthwhile as it seems to be troubling the players....

Ruthless moutherfudger .. brings on Dembele & Dele for final 20 odd minutes ...

Could be entirely logical. I'm guessing that some stats/science would show that your body becomes more susceptible to injuries after an hour+ of exercise so bringing on subs, whoever they are, makes sense to keep the squad healthy

Actually, commentator on US channel said

- Spurs has a run out routine post match, where all the players who didn't play in the game do exercise drills. Being a sub is actually lighter impact because it allows you to skip the post match drills.

You just had to "one up" me ... didn't you? fudging clam

Ha ha. Not intentional I assure you.
But as the great man himself would say “Always we find something else we need to do, different ways to improve. You will never arrive at perfection – but you need to try to be perfect.”

And let’s be honest - that last clip of Poch at the last day at the Lane is going to top most things.

(And as an aside - and at the risk of sounding precious - and believe me, I really am not precious - I’d rather not be the subject of the c word, if at all possible. Anything else, just not that).
