The FA Cup 2017/2018

I know we need to take the FA cup seriously but we also need to utilise our fully fit squad. On that pitch I'd be tempted to play the second string/same guys that play Newport tonight.
 
Far too many of our fans show no respect to lower league teams, our first team should beat Newport but a team of squad players will find it tough, we have some good players who can come in and do a job as cover but they are cover for a reason. Llorente strength is his heading and finishing in the box and we haven't been able to change our game enough to get the best out of him, it's not just a case of lumping high balls into the box but what runs players make off him and angles of delivery. I think we will win but I don't expect an easy game.

I think Wembley will make a huge difference.

Watching Swansea, their superior fitness was as big a factor as anything.

Big pitch, fit team, eventually they will crack.
 
Having seen off Wimbledon and Newport and drawn now against Rochdale, we've had as light a group of opponents as could be hoped for. Looking ahead, the only remaining top PL clubs are all kept apart from one another. Of the seven other 5th round draws, there are a minimum of four that could provide us with opponents either below us in the PL table or in lower divisions (plus the chance Hull could upset Chelsea now and make it five).

We could conceivably advance to the semis or the final before meeting teams placed higher than us in the PL standings, which is a pretty soft run for us. Which got me wondering: Which club has had the softest overall run to a cup win?

Sure, I was imagining whiny Chelsea or Mancunians once we got to the semi final, though, when the home advantage would be an accident of circumstances - but would also contribute to a media narrative that Spurs had somehow fluked their way through the FA cup.

They'd have to act pretty quickly to move it now.
Although tickets have just gone on sale (with allocation tbd), those in the higher bracket of LPs are likely to have booked trains etc. already. Although I suppose the club would say until you have got a ticket, making arrangements is at your own risk.

I reckon Emirates Marketing Project could reach the final without playing against anyone higher than them in the PL standings. ;)
