I don’t know why Kane took a gamble with his penalty and didn’t just take it as he usually does.

The large majority of the time keepers dive. So going down the middle is probably the highest percentage shot. Had he hit more centrally and higher, it could have gone in.

Im not even sure Lamela went down too easily - one of the angles show VVD kicking him full whack in the back of the leg - that's gonna hurt...

In the modern game I dont how anyone can dispute this pen. He volleys his leg in the penalty area, yes he does not see him ( not that, that counts ) and its not an outright foul. But the point is he stopped him illegally in the area. Its a penalty all day long.
