Mauricio Pochettino - Sacked

“My commitment is massive in this club and I’m working like I’m going to be here forever. But in the end it’s like the players – you never know what’s going to happen in football.
“Yes I know, there are a lot of rumours about this, about that. But tomorrow Daniel could have a bad night and say ‘oh I’m going to sack Mauricio’. And then I look stupid for saying now I’m not going to work in one place or another or another.
“You never know in football. That’s the problem. It’s a very unstable situation.

I think he does effectively dismiss them - now - he just doesn't close the door for the future.

That is why Levy offering him a new deal is clever, all the pressure is on him again

My gut is he won’t go for a few years, but you never know. Why should we believe what Poch says to the media anyway? Apparently everything he says about Sissoko is a lie, so why would it be any different in other areas? Or does he just tell the truth whenever it suits a certain agenda:D
Er......coz no one in life does that, do they?

I think they will go for Conte. If Conte is up for a stay in Spain then I expect his people to put his name forward to Perez.

Also the Psg guy.

Poch will be very tempted despite his commitment to the project at Spurs. Real Madrid is a once in a lifetime chance. There is no certainty they will knock in his door in the future.

agreed, Conte makes a lot of sense

I’m talking about posters on here deciding when Poch tells the truth to suit their agenda....

There's no need for comments like that @harr1984. People are quite entitled to suggest that Poch may have been giving a politically smart/diplomatic answer without it needing to fit an agenda. If there is anyone that you want to call out, reply to a post or name them, anything else can look a little snide.

Apologies Milo.

I personally think he would be mad to go to Madrid, if/when he leaves as long as it is not to a team in England he will go with my best wishes. I could understand PSG, they seem to stick by their managers, but Madrid is a crazy team who sack managers and buy players the manager does not want. He would be better off going to A.Madrid or PSG.

He can make a legacy here. We are moving into a massive state of the art stadium. He likes to coach players, Im not really sure his management style would work on overpaid primadonnas. He likes to coach up young players into a system.

Im not saying he cannot do it. But it makes little sense at the moment. I hope to see him here still in 10 years. He and Levy are the perfect marriage really. We are going places and income is rising.

Real should stick by Zidane. They have won the league and Champions league 2 years in a row. So one bad season and they want to jettison him? would be
crazy. He is the perfect manager to manage big players as he was one himself.

Rightly or wrongly if we lose this some people will turn on him with being knocked out the FA cup and Real.

We can moan about the players not turning up, but when the manager puts out a side with absolutely no creativity can you blame them. We had a midfield with 3 fairly negative players and not a single player in the side who could actually string things together. Yes, we struggle without Eriksen, but we would've done better today had we had a balanced side out.

We all wanted players rested, but FML not ALL our creative players.

I can't believe there are people that still believe the squad is good enough.

I really hope Poch learns from this evening; his team selection was utterly stupid as pretty much everyone in the match thread said before the game. I'm a huge Poch fan and dont believe that he's arrogant enough to look at what he did this evening. He's a youngish manager, kind of like where say Dier or Kane are as players, so he can still learn - just hope he looks himself in the mirror and privately accepts his share of the culpability this evening

In case my position isn't clear, I don't think our squad is anywhere near good enough.

If Winks were fit, he probably would've started, but I'm sure that we could've started players like Georgiou tonight and been better off.

It’s all relative, yes it wasn’t our most creative MF, but we were not playing against a PL defence either, every player in our squad should be able to run rings around players at that level. Our lot were mostly lazy and half interested today, only a few turned up.

I’ve seen many claims that we should prioritise this trophy as its one we can win, well the attitude I saw this afternoon suggests to me we can’t.

If a player hasnt shown that they are capable of picking a pass up until now, why would they all of a sudden be able to?

Without winks, eriksen and lamela I think Dier should have been played in midfield as he can pass forwards better then any of our other central midfielders. We really do need some pace from the full back positions. Last year with rose and walker we had a way round teams that blocked us in midfield.
