Launch also expected to be used to announce the iPad mini, the new iPod nano and the final build of iOS 6

Lol, the missus bought me a Bose Soundock for my birthday... What are those arse clowns suggesting for old peripherals? "By new gear" would be my guess.

There will be an adaptor you can buy which will fit all, another revenue stream for apple

Thousands of 4/4S phones will now be considered obsolete by their owners when there's a new model in town.

i bet its not called the iphone 5 though, my money would be on just "the new iPhone" like they did with the most recent iPad

At least, a pal works for 3 and he said apple have done this to stop for a while all these other companies ripping off the current iphone adaptors, so some cash to apple

GHod forbid anyone else make any money on peripherals. I went to get a new bumper for my 4g and the local shop told me that Apple had actually stopped letting retailers stock them, you have to go to Apple... for a bloody case! They're a joke really.

iPad mini...so that's an iPhone...without the ability to make calls? No wait, that's the iPod touch. How odd...

It's not. It's a tablet in a size that means you don't look like a c*nt on the tube

It can also be held in one hand without requiring arms like popeye

7 inches (assuming Apple go the same way as Google Nexus 7) is a very good size for a "consumption" device (which is what an iPad is)

Content creation not so good, but then how many people even use their 10" tablets to create content?

Microsoft surface will likely dominate tablets for content creation, because its going to be designed to be a true laptop replacement

the thing is though, in the consumer space most people don't even use their computers to create content, just browse facebook/porn/twitter/email

Good point. And the £160 Nexus does all that and more very well indeed.

Interesting comparison of the iPad vs Nexus here:

Be interesting to see how Apple approach the iPad mini

If it delivers the iPad experience in a better form factor, at much reduced cost, they'll sell squillions of them
