Laos were even worse than I expected for a minnow... I felt bad for their players. But then again, it's satisfying to watch a crushing demolition of a minnow in WCQs from time to time...

Regardless of how poor the opposition was, it was nice to see SHM gain confidence by scoring goals... He's won't be flying to Lebanon for the next WCQ this week. Instead, he's finalising his work permit paperwork and flying to London to get settled.

first goal was a bit lucky imo.....the other two were excellently taken goals
 
San Marino are ranked even worse (192 or something) so unless Rooney gets a handful does that diminish his apparently World Class status?

Well done to Son for getting his hattrick for South Korea against Laos. It will go a long way in proving his worth due to his huge transfer fee. After becoming the most expensive Asian player in history, everyone in Asia will be looking at his performance from now on.

But let Son and South Korea enjoy their time. Once he starts to play for Spurs, you know the legendary Spurs jinx will come into full force. It has affected teams like Ireland, Croatia, Bulgaria, Mexico and Russia in the past after we had signed one of their players. And it seems like affecting Belgium now as well.:D

Speaking as a Korean, Asia is too much of a broad term. The only Asians who will be looking at his performance are Koreans. Chinese, Japanese, etc will not care at all for Son. Instead, they'll wish that he does poorly in the Premier League. There's a great amount of rivalry and hatred between many Asian countries, so Asia as a continent is definitely not as harmonious as one might imagine.

That is true. But if you watch FoxSports Asia, they will make you believe that Asians are united and support each other like one big family.:D
