Definitely agree. Really impressed with how he's reacted this season in really difficult circumstances.
Think it's fair to say that he has at times at least not shown sufficient quality on the ball, games phases, moments. But I think confidence is a big part of that. What he is showing is that mentality you bring up, keeps trying, keeps fighting, doesn't hide. Imo we know he has quality on the ball, he's shown it here too. I think he'll keep improving if we manage to give him the ball in decent areas and have some movement around him.
...and to get his teammates clicking around him.Really on coaching staff to get him clicking consistently
Looking at that he should be rested v Burnley. Gallagher can come in and play an AM role, it might suit us against a physical Burnley side anyway. It doesn't show from that properly. View attachment 21389

Simons has got stuck in and been physical in plenty of games, plenty of times. It says it all about how we play if we are concerning ourselves with how many tackles our creative player is making in a game....
You should take that back.It does get me wondering whether Xavi's injury was hugely exaggerated to achieve a couple of things. The first is the obvious disguise to tonight's opposition. The second is perhaps a little side swipe at PGMOL based on Frank's comments about Xavi's own sending off and being the receiving end of Bowen's tackle. Was Frank and his player using their smarts a little perhaps and he wasn't injured at all?
