World Cup 2026: Mexico, USA and Canada

New Zealand are a team of tireless, athletic giants compared to Egypt. Nothing fancy but lots of fast running into space and passing the ball really quick. Effective too.

Egypt are better technically but just can't keep up. And have already succumbed to injury.

The entire NZ defence are easily keeping out marmoush and salah from with ends. CB is impressive, very mobile though tall, covering ground easily. Scores too.

My family came round at weekend and obviously the World Cup was discussed and it was generally agreed that it wasn't surprising that the "smaller" teams are getting unexpected results or that some teams aren't looking as good as in the past.
All but a few teams play negative football in their domestic leagues, focusing on not losing and hoping to nick a win. It's all about following "the play book" and stopping your opponents playing.
Lots of technical good players but few outstanding game changers, too many efficient performers who can do a job.
It's all been a bit enjoyable to see some teams struggle, but this stage of the competition teams should be able to play with greater freedom as you have to be absolutely dog s hit not to get in next phase.

That little bit at the beginning where Henry passes the ball towards Lalas and then draws it back with his other foot. The expression on his face. :)
