The most effective cops and lawyers are normally criminals, maybe it is a thing.

That's ridulous..do you think all refs agree with that decision ,apart from that a real footballer who played would have more knowledge than a referee who hasn't played or played much football.

In the same way, a criminal would be a better judge than someone who has studied law.
