Will Lankshear

One last week, two today...will be interesting to see how his season goes...
He will get mid 30s
The guy knows how to score
People are looking for things in strikers that just don’t matter if they score goals
The best thing I saw with Lankshear last year was when he missed.. he still tried the same thing again and got goals
He is very similar to Kane but we don’t have a manager who values though without experience right now
He will be worth a figure if he develops as ok sure he will

He is absolutely nothing like Kane. Have you actually watched him play?

Let’s see @Finney Is Back
Your welcome to your view like anyone is
I’ll stick to my guns until I’m proven wrong

Yes
Loads
I went to watch the youth games too
The way he shoots across the body is like Kane
The back post drop for headers is like Kane
The lay offs are like Kane
Do you remember Harry when he burst in the scene here… that was that kind of player

I think DeZerbi would've been happy to keep him. He made the point clearly that if you're willing to be part of the pool, then excellent, all-in. If you're unhappy at not starting, or want guaranteed playing time, then it is best to leave. He's been pretty consistent with that. It seems like Will wanted regular football or to be a starter with us? So the decision was made. That's what I got. I think he needs this season to fully develop, and hope he does at Boro.

In respects of RDZ and ready-made, I agree, he wants that as much as possible, and it will be interesting to see of Moore's season at Rangers, plus pre-season performances, have done enough to have him on the pitch at Brentford next week. FWIW I thought he was really good today...

I don’t think de zerbi wants anyone who isn’t a NOW player
He is all about delivering this season and that’s what we as fans ultimately should want
But for me, selling Lankshear was just daft without a way to get him back for an agreed price
We have been selling talented kids because no one wants the NOW senior players we have. That says a lot to me about those players and I’m sure de zerbi knows those players well too (he is signing off the sales)

I think you make a great point at the end, it's been messy for a long time and this is our way of unclogging the mess and allowing the next wave to progress properly.
I think in De Zerbi's ideal world every single player would be a 'now-City-calibre' player for sure, and I think if a young player shows they have the potential and the mentality, he is happy to accomodate them. We shall see whether Moore stays or not. Yes, re: Lankshear...I think (and almost hope!) we have a couple more that 'get away' as it will prove the academy is producing AND i hope we get European football this season so as we can continue to bring through a couple of gems.
Luca-Williams Barnett is so so important!!!!!!

People have been focussing too much on pre season to assess our state of play and not picking up that we’re creating chances . That’s whilst missing so many key players
All because we have a man in charge who focussed on creativity and actual football play
It’s why I’m confident he will deliver this season a side that will make Europe for sure
I look at United last year and how they looked once they sacked the poisonous manager
No reason why we can’t mirror that and I believe that’s RDZ target. Hence why be what’s players who will deliver now
Sorry that’s all a mess of a paragraph I know

Oh I agree 100%. I think if he got a dream triple signing, the three who've been playing are on the bench immediately.
You'll be unsurprised to know that if we can get him two more through the door, I think we can get into the top 5 and CL. Utd will stutter, Liverpool more so, City will take a bit to hit a stride and Arsenal are currently a little shy I think given injury to Saliba plus Rice and Saka overplayed. Don't get me wrong, they're the runners but we have a manager as you said. Chelsea are the other dark horse; they concern me.

Choose A or B below…

A) we keep him but he only gets to, say 90%, of his max potential and we decide he never was quite good enough and sell him in a couple years, or

B) we sell him to a lower team now where he does develop to his full potential and we say we shouldn’t have sold him in the first place but we make money on his sell on fee.

Or we keep him an develop him and he achieve his potential here as one of our own
That’s the purpose of a real academy
But it’s been used this year as a fund for fixing issues in the first team
We should gave at least one real HG player ij every squad and we have none typically
Hell we barely have any English players which i find appealing (and im no nationalist I promise)
So for me, when you have a genuine talent you should be keeping him

I just don't think he wanted to stay here and grow, I think he wanted a home. At least we have a matching clause in the deal i.e. anyone who bids for him, we have the right to match their bid and sign him back first refusal IF the player wanted to return.
