We didn't start the fire

inkpenspur

Allan Nielsen
Right, I have shamelessly ripped this off from the Guardian's teatime footie email... new words to the Billy Joel classic (?) 'We didn't start the Fire'. I read through it, and thought it scanned, but then it got me thinking... how many of the references did I get... some are obvious (I particularly liked the way the writer made York City beat the Arse fit into the lyrics) but some I don't have a clue, and I thought I was up on my footie trivia...

Anyway, here's the lyric, with the unknowns underlined!

With apologies to Billy Joel
