U23s, Academy and Loanees

We've made a lot of brick choices for loans this season. That's 5 that have been recalled now - Solomon, Dorrington, Abbott, Donley and Ajayi.

I think we should be learning a lesson from Troy Parrott and be sending them off to more technical leagues like Holland and Belgium, rather than some of the dead end places they've been going

Depends what we want?.... If we want to be trying to create players to sell for £5m to £10m then the overseas loan route works. If we're trying to create first team players for ourselves then our lower leagues are probably a better place to learn.

Yep.

That’s a bit of a surprise, have Coventry just got a player injured or something? he was doing alright at Pompey getting plenty of game time, hopefully this doesn’t turn in to a Donley/Stoke type loan. A very good sign that the team flying at the top of the championship would want him though.

I really don’t see him starting for Coventry, if he can force his way into their team and stay there then he will have done very well.

Ok yea makes a bit more sense then. Won 2, drawn 3, lost 3 out of their last 8.
I've watched them on TV a fair few times this season - They have a talented Japanese right winger called Sakamoto but I don't recall anything special coming from the left hand side. I reckon he will be getting plenty of game time there, he featured 16 times in Championship for Portsmouth this season so doubt they would agree to move him to Coventry without assurances of playing time....

He couldn't get in the Pompey squad could he? i feel he is coming in to be a squad filler.

Depends on what the manager needs or wants.
They might want to go for more defensive players to try and get points.

When he gets on, he does well and causes issues

We might not have a recall option on him.
True , I make it 17 sort of fit players in the first team squad , 2 goalies, 7 defenders, 3 midfielders & 5 forwards , left out Bergvall as there was confirmation today of his injury , we cannot possibly carry on like that .
Under 21 team out on Saturday , forget about the Cup.

PS on the positve side we should get Sarr or Biss back next week after the result of tmorrow's match in Africa
