Let me remember from scratch

In: Dubravka, Van Hecke, Senesi, Robertson, Tosin, Tonali, Fernandes, Mudryk, Marmoush, Savio

Out (inc. on loan): Vicario, Spence, Romero, Sousa, Danso, Sarr, Solomon, Lankshear, Richarlison?, Donley, Moore

No change: Kinsky, Austin, Porro, Udogie, van der Ven, Bentancur, Tel, Solanke, Kudus, Gallagher, Gray, Bergvall, Davies, Scarlett?

Injured: Simon, Kulusevski, Maddison, Odobert,

10 signings this window. Yet why do I feel concerned? On paper this looks a solid squad except a top no.9!!

Thing is, Tosin/Richi/Mudryk are self inflicted, poor judgement that creates toxicity.

Genuinely believe we would have been better off lowering the price (or paying Richi's loyalty bonus or whatever), promoting Hardy to 1st team and doing no other business, it would have been less "sour" than closing the window with two Chelsea rejects.

De Zerbi likes both players, worked with one of them before, and tried to sign the other twice at other clubs. They are not poor judgement in any sense other than our own perceptions of dealing with Chelsea. Were they first options? Clearly not. Are they on a list? Clearly.
I am absolutely fine with them, indeed, I can see both making valuable contributions in the coming months.

#10 we are screwed until Kulu and Simons return. And RB we're a mess too. Those are the three standouts.

I've said my bit enough, for you though ..

You, more than most here understand what the connection with the manager buys the team/club/fans, it's not hyperbole to say it's the difference between success and failure at Spurs.

By buying two Chelsea rejects, we have not helped our manager, we have not bought him time, we have (likely) actually sabotaged his relationship with at least some component of our fanbase.

We need to move beyond that.
Honestly, at this point in my life, I have no time for any section of our fanbase that lives in that zone (the same ones who wanted us to lose a football match because of what it might mean to our rivals, despite the fact those three points would've seen us in the CL that season).
It's stupid.
We've had more contentious buys such as Adebayor and Gallas who both went on to be decent players for us.
Again, each player is one RDZ has a historical liking of.
Let's move on and support them and the window overall.

Oh definitely, the squads looking fairly good in my opinion, lacks goals obviously, but a few guys will chip in 10 each and we’ll see where we are. A bit concerned about the individuals in defence, I think we’ve regressed there, but as a team we will be keeping the ball and defending better I’m sure.

The biggest issue right now is we are totally unfit and he can’t put anything like his best, most balanced, team out yet because of niggly injuries picked up in pre season and poor conditioning (Tonali, Solanke, Udogie, Fernandes, etc.). If he’s able to put something close to a first XI out (barring the long term injuries) then we’ll be fine won’t take long to click. Pre season has been a shocker!

Indeed.
I am hopeful that this is down to a new approach to not overloading in the summer, and that come winter we'll see the benefits...but I agree, it is a concern.

Think we can muddle through with Gallagher, Kudus, Maddison and Fernandes. One game a week, should be alright,

Think once the window has shut we’ll see more cohesion because the players that remain actually want to be here. And that will make the 10 position look more functioning.

Indeed. Forever and a day many fans have said 'back the manager', and there can be some nuance in how that's defined. But that's irrelevant now.

There's only one loud voice that says 'back the manager' and that is RDZ himself. It's the thing he's always demanded....and he's got that here lock stock and barrel. It's a very good thing, especially for him!.

We're simply left believing in him (and I do have strong belief in him), but if it doesn't work...jeepers weepers they'll be RDZ residue everywhere:)

This really is my worry.
