Gakpo is a LW who plays abit as CF, I hope he isnt our long term CF target TBH.

I think he is a much better LW than Savinho though

Asked the Google machine to give me Gakpo’s g/a record at PSV and if he played CF mostly and got this. A good return of .68 g/a per game but rarely featured as a CF…

i have lots of liverpool fans around me and they all want spurs to buy so that they can afford an upgrade. he is perceived as a one-trick pony and fails to live up in big games.

The punt is he’d got well into our more defined system. Which I think he probably would.

We are not going to get a quality LB this year unless we sell Udogie - which looks unlikely at this stage. Guess Robbo will have to play more than we expected and explains why Souza's exit rumours have completely died down.

I guess the question becomes what is the manager choice when Robbo is also out.

Is it simply the case that Senesi comes in and VDV switches to LB? Does Davies sit on the bench covering 2 positions in that scenario and Souza still doesn't make the match day squad?

I'd like to think if Souza was deserving of a place he'd get it. That hasn't always happened under previous managers.

Ally G said something Udogie being out for an indeterminate length of time during the week - if that's the case then i think that puts paid to his time at the club. I like Robertson as cover but not as a long term starter so that's a starting position that needs addressing along with cover for RB now we have sold Spence.

The supposed revamp of the defence amounts to replacing Romero as a starter and then changing out Dragusin & Davies as back ups.

If that's the case, you are right, he is done.

I actually quite like the idea of Robertson as the experienced one starting the season and Souza the young talented one challenging for the spot....

Looking like Gakpo and Savinho…

It’s funny that after all the Bomba talk that would almost be disappointing but ultimately it would be a ridiculously good transfer window, way, way better than anyone could have expected.

It’s always like that. Even the summer we got 7 lads in everyone was hoping for one last deadline day signing. We’re a greedy bunch - always more more more! I’m definitely one of them, mind.
