Transfer thread

You think people here don't watch the J.League?

I'm saying he's not as famous or has the following as son. He's a 20 year old center back with one season under his belt.

If you think him signing for spurs will make 100,000 japanese people suddenly go out and buy spurs shirts, you are delusional.

Definitely a talented player, some reports stating that he will be in the first team squad next season, so likely Dragu the odd one out?

Danso is a solid very good player, and I guess the club are planning for life without Cuti either this season or if he runs his contract down?

No I’m not. I live here. Don’t know about 100,000, but it will be very big.

And literally no one has the following of Son, other than Ohtani Shohei (baseball)

It would be over 4 times the average attendence that watched him play.

Don't get me wrong. Yes he will increase our support from japan. Which will be great. But he is not established and plays in defence rather than attack. Which is less exciting.

Right, well that seems like a different argument. Dunno how good he’ll be, how ready he is. But a young Japanese player going to a big Premier League team is always going to be huge news, and will no doubt increase the coverage and following of Spurs.

It’s being widely reported here:

Tottenham = トッテナム or トットナム

It's the original argument. Yiddo stated we'd make his transfer fee back already from shirt sales in japan.
I just pointed out that was doubtful.

You're assuming fans of other J-league teams aren't Spurs fans and therefore may buy a Spurs shirt with his name on.
I agree it's unlikely we'd sell 100,000 shirts but who knows.

I still have a Kazuyuki Toda shirt somewhere ;)
