I don’t really buy the reports that we’ve ever shown serious interest in Paqueta, I think it’s paper talk. I think we considered the likelihood of West Ham selling us two of their best players and looked elsewhere.

True, and it wouldn’t surprise me if we asked the question, but I think this line we keep seeing of “but they believe it would be a hard deal to complete” is likely especially true of this one. I can’t imagine we ever really bothered wasting the time to put a deal together or start suggesting numbers. (I could be completely wrong of course, I know nothing of our inner workings!).
