***Tottenham v Brentford OMT***

That starting 11 looks very average, at best! Porro not even on the bench. I get that he played in the WC final, but that's a month ago. He should be up to speed by now!
Patrick Berg played every game for Norway, and played again for Bodø Glimt 5 days after returning. And he's played competitive games every single month for the last 28 months!

You could make a case that with everyone fit only 3 of that starting 11 are actually first choice. Add Savinho, Marmoush and soon hopefully Porro, Fernandes, VDV Madders and Kudus and it starts to look alot stronger. I think its gonna be a few weeks until we see what this team is really going to look like.

It's an interesting team.

I think we all really wanted Kulu, Kudus and Madds to be fit and ready to go for the first game of the season. In reality, only one of them makes the bench. Ditto with Solanke really. We all wanted him to have fitness and form through the recent pre-season. That hasn't happened.

I think it's a massive day for Robbo as well. He really needs to prove he can still operate at the highest level of the PL.

In reality, only Kinsky, JPvH and Tonali can be comfortable "best eleven" choices. That hopefully means we win the game as there are 8 players with something massive to prove to their manager.

That's pretty much what I'm saying, eh? What might come does not really help now, does it? As it is, that starting 11 is poor. But it is what it is, and we just have to cope, like we have for the last 2 seasons, where half the squad have been out injured.

If Lewis Potter is at left back for Brentford them Mikey will have height and weight advantage over him, we can always switch to boxing if were not doing well.

I agree. It's just so annoying that we still have so many injuries, both long term and new like VDV. As you say, coping is what we've done but it gets very wearing and I for one am desperate after so long to see something close to our strongest team.

Absolutely agree it’s going to be a while before we start to see what this team is. We should absolutely get much better as the season goes on as more players become available and with hopefully two new signings sorted as well in Savinho and Marmoush.

This could be anything today, hope for a win, feel a draw, wouldn’t actually be surprised by a loss to a much more settled team playing at home - let’s just hope for huge improvement from last season. 💪

Personally I would have started Fernandes rather than Bergvall. I fear Bergvall will play a dodgy ball across the pitch which gets cut out OR get the ball from Kinsky and try to turn and beat 17 men and fail OR get dribbled past too much and YES of course I am trying to reverse jinx it, but Bergvall worries me a bit, he needs to be a bit more "pragmatic and experienced" rather than "elaborate and naive".

That said, I'm hoping we bring on Fernandes, Maddison and Solanke after 60 for Bergvall, someone and Richie and they make an impact and win us the game, then Bentancur and Danso come on to grind the game down to full time with Moore and Tel going off.

I don't suppose Robbo can last 90+ mins if expected to get up and down the line.
