***Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea***, Premier League, Nov 1st 2025 at White Hart Lane

That's good to know, lack of passing abilitiy, lack of bravery, lack of movement, lack of football intelligence, and lack of pride aren't as big an issue as a lack of patience...

I didn’t see any lack of bravery. Any examples? The effort was there. In the face of their press the confidence, guile and patience was missing. No coincidence we are terrible at home.

I'm sorry, but You are wrong. An inferior team that are well coached and have a plan, can outplay a better team without a plan. If our players can't get past defenders on their own, which by the way is rubbish, we have to do something else. Pass and move past them and play them out. It's about structure, cohesion and playing with a plan. Currently we don't do that, and it needs to be fixed sooner rather than later.
Ok then. Well I hope a plan is in place. And the front line we have start scoring goals.....
Do you think we would still be this bad if we had Kulu or madds or anyone who would pass the ball forward? And with that Tel and Rich will start scoring for fun. Cos once thats providers are supplied I look forward to us banging them in for fun

I am terrible I get a bee in my bonnet about certain players, and I actually think we have the worst decision makers in the league. So many of our players just dont know when to release the ball even if it means a simple pass will keep possession for us. Every player on the pitch looked clueless and we couldn`t string 2 passes together let alone shoot or get a cross in to anywhere but straight to their keeper. We just have to come to terms that we aint that good. I see the love for Kudus is dropping another one of many with plenty of promise but no end product.
The biggest problem though in my opinion is that in our last 2 games our manager has been done tactically. Eddie Howe played 4 big old centre backs as he knew we only really pose a threat from set pieces and ironically we conceded from a set piece. And I hate to say it but Chelseas press killed us today . We were very lucky not to lose by a bigger margin. Frank needs to sort things out sooner rather than later

Same, on the way home from the game but Xavi knocking it back to VDV was the bit that stood out for me.
Spence tried a silly skill and got lucky that it bounced to a team mate and then straight back to himself.
Then.........
Guess what? Calamity. In fact, ccaallaammiittyy.
Spence tried a silly turn (drag back through your own legs) and got robbed and jogged back.
Then VdV gave it to Xavi who chickened out and gave it straight back but too short, calamity.
Then VdV was too nice, instead of going nuclear he tried a skill himself and was robbed. Calamity.
Then Danso came across and instead of going nuclear he tried a nice interception but Caiceido saw him coming and chopped it to the goalscorer. Calamity.

we turned into a machine, we were solid at the back and Bale was banging them in from all over the pitch

that is the best period in my time watching Spurs, I was confident going into every game that we wouldn't lose

More than when we finished 2nd and got 86 points and scored more and conceded less than that AVB season? We were undefeated at home in that season (16/17) which seems unthinkable now given how bad we are at home. The only similarity is we were just as clueless going forward but we had Bale to bail us out excuse the pun.

You didn't see players turning backwards instead of playing it forward?? There was no movement, defence was always the first think on the players mind, instead of making an effort to get into position to support the attack. If you didn't see a lack of bravery tonight I don't know what you were watching.

Today it would have made little to no difference. Of course better players help, but it's not like they are miles better than those who are fit now. It's marginal. Sometimes marginal can make a difference, but in the long run, a team without a functioning attacking structure, will still look like a team without a functioning attacking structure, even with better players.

Totally agree. We had no balls in playing quick football or putting the ball into spaces to attack. We were 95% safe, and we still messed it up

Yeah, because that Poch team was the best team in the country, the pressure was more, the stress was more.

Although Vdv was happy last week. Funny that him and Spence and X all had a chance to clear the ball before they scored......so maybe they look at themselves to
You’re probably right mate. Always easy to read things that aren’t there especially when you’re as emotional as I am after that.

fudge Tottenham anyway.

This isn't even about what players we have. The players are the players, it's about structure and identity. We've gone too far the other way that we have no attacking identity at all...at the moment.
Hoofing it up at at every opportunity is not the identity I want to see at all.
This is the Premier League not lower league, even if we aren't going to be the most attractive team in the Prem, I can live with that as long as we have some level of creativity in our attack.

Angball was infuriatingly naive defensively, but I'd still rather that than become a team who only look to hoof it forwards, and can't string two passes together.
