***Tottenham Hotspur v Everton*** - OMT

Rob Daly on the Spursplay commentary reckoned 4-4-2 when we defended. Also Kudus playing more central right side to allow Johnson stay out on the right wing , whatever Frank's instructions it worked.
How about we play all our games away then we can shut down the "atmosphere" at our place thread :D
I actually think that is right and we were playing more like we did vs PSG
I’ve watched some of the game back and kudus always lined up centrally when it was with Vicario

Has anyone worked out what formation we were playing yesterday?
442 with Kudus detailed to do more defensive work than Muani out of the front two

Johnson wide right with Porro backing him up, and Kudus drifting that side as well

Xavi left with license to cut in and drift with Spence playing more as an overlapper.

Bentancur and Paulinha just generally running their nuts off as the CM pair

Kudus was way freer than that. While Johnson nominally held the width, Kudus was actually the one playing out there with the ball. He was also the one who was defending with Porro and recieving the ball from Bantancur/Palhinha. I'd say it was more of a 433 with Kudus as sort of playing a b2b wide role. Simons seemed central in the first half with Spence doing the overlap, later in the game Simon seemed to drift out to the left to provide some width. It was all quite unconventional.

More 4-4-1-1 or 4-2-3-1 than 4-4-2 to me, but the differences between those formations aren't exactly crystal clear and will usually only partially describe what's happening anyway.

Quite liked Kudus having a more free/roaming role and also play more centrally at times. Hope we see a bit more of that.
