The youth players/on-loan thread 2016-17

Hopefully he's too highly rated for a loan. This could be his season to overtake Trippier

Loan would be good for him. We dont need 3 RBs - if he is realistically going to get some match time at Hull then we should loan him out. Let him prove himself in some competitive football and then replace Trippier next summer

I'd like to see KWP go to Hull on loan. He'd get some good experience there and if he got some time in the prem he'd benefit massively.

Do we pay our academy staff below market wages? Seems that we're constantly losing people. OK, once you have the infrastructure and process in place then the people are less important, but seems odd that we cant retain them

I suspect that it is the same at most clubs but we also have the problem that we have one of the most successful academies in the country and other clubs are going to want to poach people from that.

Most likely Man U pay way more than what is reasonable. Seeing as Nicky Butt is head of their academy, he probably just looked around to see who had a successful setup and decided to try and poach staff from them.

I wonder if he will be loaning out players to the other club he owns with Neville and Scholes, I would have thought it a conflict of interest being involved in one club and working for another.

BREAKING NEWS:

Tottenham under 18's head coach / manager Kieran McKenna has left Spurs for Manchester United.

WTF is happening at the club? Staff are leaving like rats on a sinking ship.

Sent with Miele C1 Vacuum cleaner

^That is very interesting. What is going on? This is especially bizarre as Kieran has almost always been at Spurs since he was 15.

And was very happy at Spurs attitude after his injuries.

But can't hold career progression against someone.

Presumably Man U want to stop having to spend like Real and get their youth set up better again.
And Im sure they'll pay big too.
Possibly even with a wider remit than with us.
And getting to work with Mourinho - that opportunity doesn't come everyday

Saw this on the SS News ticker....

SPURS SIGN VELASCO

Some more news from Tottenham as they have signed Colombia youth international Juan Pablo Gonzalez Velasco.

The 17-year-old left Brentford’s academy when it closed down earlier this summer and has joined Tottenham’s U18 group.

He made his debut in a 5-1 win over Aston Villa at the weekend.
