The *WHEN* we go down thread

I don’t think that many will cancel regardless of price, partly what Deano says, and I also think if there are to be cancellations it’ll happen in the second season in the Championship, I think many will renew next season with the expectation of us going straight back up.

Whether that happens we of course wait to see.

I’ll probably renew even if it’s the same price. Not because I think it’s right but because I’m proud to have a season ticket for our club and feel I’m contributing. I know that’s kind of idealistic and naive. I guess I’m one of those who deserves whatever he gets because people like me would be allowing ENIC to get away with absolute murder by charging over a grand for Championship football.

I’d fudging despise ENIC for it but would still love the club and, rightly or wrongly, I consider myself a supporter of the club rather than a customer of ENIC.

Amen to that brother. 👍

Romans 8:18

For I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
When will it be revealed tomorrow next week next month next 10 years or never because it all made up bollox.
I prefer it if we get behind the team & if we are good enough we stay up. If not I will continue to support the greatest team on the planet like I did the last time we got relegated COYS

I've been having similar thoughts recently, I pay around the same as you, think it's £1070 currently and not sure what I will do when push comes to shove but at the moment I will not be paying that for a season in the Championship if that's where we end up.

Looking at some data (a year or two old) and Championship season ticket prices seem to range from 400-700 for the most expensive at current clubs, maybe a few over 700.

If we go down and Spurs drop mine to £800 I'll probably renew.
Think it's around 40k ST holders at the moment? If we go down I can see a mass exodus regardless of the price.

Same here, it was a real eye opener traveling around grounds i have never been to before. Had a lot of fun and even though we just got up at the end of the season it was a experiance for sure.

I’m really wondering what we have next season.

I think we might finally see Lankshear, Moore, LWB, Byfield, Donley, hopefully Devine? Become part of the team.

Kinsky and Austin should be enough for the Championship?

I’d love to have Vuskovic but despite his contract I have huge worries about that.

I pray Bergvall and Gray are still here but can see them getting offers.

Who are the Championship specialist players we can bring in to try and bounce back? Because let’s face it we need to come straight back up or we really are in a world of trouble.

Do we think Spence and Richarlison go? Is there perhaps a lower half Prem team who takes them?

I’m thinking,

Kinsky

Byfield Danso Vuskovic ?

Gray Bergvall

Maddison

Odobert Richy LWB

Olusesi? Donley? Devine?

I just can’t see who stays at the moment but think we lose most of our first XI and I’ll be honest, I don’t think that’s a huge issue. At least with our youngsters back in the fold it might feel like something to feel again.

I think Devine has an option for them to buy at the end of his loan. So could be away.

Vuskovic, Gray, Bergvall will all be gone. Too many offers in for them.

Kinsky might go as well. I'm sure he could go back to his former club.

we are just a badly run club with a state of the art stadium for concerts and boxing

i can't see prices coming down... please pinch me, if and when they do :tongueclosed:

There will be plenty of empty seats in the Championship anyhow, but there will be a lot more if they don’t significantly reduce the ticket prices. Who in their right mind will pay £60 or £70 to watch Bristol City, Watford, Preston, Charlton or Portsmouth, for example?

Feels like a rehash of the thread from the early 2000's, except the implications will be worse. Back then we were a nothing team hoping to nick the odd cup and qualify for Europe through a Fair Play spot. Now we have had regular European games for one and a half decade, we are reigning Europa League champions and widely considered a top European team. Though the loss will be more about economics than reputation, providing we bounce right back up.

Hopefully, and this is where Levy could have saved our bacon, we haven't put ourselves in a Leeds situation where if we lose TV and European money we will go bust. And here's the silver lining, some of the dross that shouldn't even have a locker at Spurs will without doubt leave the club. We won't have yet another 1-3 seasons of this shower of nothingness where overpaid and entitled players see out their contracts while holding us back. Except for a few promising youngsters, we don't have a single player who would get a sniff in at our 16-19 setup. No manager on Earth is going to change that fact.

I don't know for sure, but the rebuild which is going to come whether we want it or not, could be entertaining. If we put our hurt feelings aside, perhaps it will be more fun and exciting see us battle for promotion rather than relegation?
